its amazing isn't it? two years ago, he was Dan Can McStay in Brisbane, now he's the second coming of Gordon Coventry. I hope he can recapture his form from late last season.Any vision of the screamer Dan McStay took at training today ?
Reckon he returns in a fortnight

Main training - Round 17 v Essendon.
Pretty much everyone was around in some capacity except for Carmichael and Begg
Rehab:
Noble
Josh D (briefly, then went inside)
Mitchell
Cox
Steene
Parker
I'll speak of the rehab players first;
Noble looked absolutely fine. But completed his running sessions, first he ran with Josh, then with Oscar.
Josh D wasn't out very long. Started to run, but must have felt sore still, as he then went inside and wasn't seen again. But they'll give him I'd say until tomorrow at the captain's run.
Cox started to do some running, but he also started to do some ruck work with DC, Kreuger and Smit.
Parker, Mitchell and Steene all went about some running sessions as they work through their own recoveries.
Maybe because of the lighter week, but this seemed to be on the lighter side of things. There was some light drills, a pressure drill sorted into two groups; then match sim. Once they finished up match sim, they kinda hung around doing their own thing before going inside.
Jamie also participated in match sim, and seems to be getting closer every week. Same goes for Mcstay. He was looking good, I don't think it will be long until he is able to play some game time at some level.

During match sim, they had all of Frampton. Moore. Dean. and Howe in defence on the same team.
Sidey was half back, but that was maybe since Maynard didn't participate. Markov and HH were wings (to cover for sidey down back? and Josh not completing it)
I think we've needed our 3 talls in defence. Consistently every week to help out Darcy & Bill. Dean won't be playing Noble's role anyway.only because of the loss of Noble. Otherwise it wouldn't be their first choice.
Dan's hanger
Lachie Schultz
I'll tell you if you meet me at 9 o'clock on the 9th green. How did he get the nickname?
I think they’ll take a precautionary line with him.Any vision of the screamer Dan McStay took at training today ?

So in 3 weeks then?I think they’ll take a precautionary line with him.
I’d like to see him tear Hawthorn a new one.So in 3 weeks then?
He'll be pitching a tent outside Fly's office until selected, I think.

Open Training - July 10th.
I much prefer when barely anyone is there tbh. I also feel they don't go as hard as when there is that many people there. Certainly felt less than usual.
The boys came out at 10am. A bit later than usual, probably to do with Carmy announcing his retirement and all that. And then it finished at 11:30.
As for the type of of things they did, little warm up. Kicking drill, some pressure drills briefly. Ball movement and a little bit of match play before they went to sign.
Apart from the noticeables in reef and noble (and jamie) the B/W was very much mixed up and you couldn't tell one way or another. Heck, even half the players ended up swapping numbers. Moore used White 46 at times, Sidey in 26, Jamie wore 19, and so many more. It was hard to keep track of who was who sometimes.
Howe didn't finish the session after doing some running and getting some work done. Fly basically implied he would be unlikely to play. This hamstring awareness is lingering around..
Jamie, seems he will play. He trained stongly and looks right to go.
There was applauds in the middle of the ground. At first I thought it was for Elliott's return, but in fact it was about Dan playing his first game since september.
Markov and IQ got through the session, though initially both started in the rehab group, but they intergrated into drills with the squad not long afterward.
