Evangelicals’ well known support for Israel is deeply rooted in the Christian Bible, and their literal interpretation of the scriptures. Numbers 24:9 (Genesis 12:3) “Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed, And whoever curses Israel will be cursed.”

Evangelicals were the ones Trump listened to, more than other stake holder, when it came to Israel. The former President specifically said he moved the US embassy to Jerusalem “for the evangelicals”, following their persistent lobbying.

I don’t think it is that complex.

Trump is a white supremacist. It is that simple. Same with Dutton.

And Trump harvests votes. White supremacists votes. Evangelical votes. NRA votes. He says what he has to say to get the votes he needs. He does not care one bit about what they want - they will let him grift so that is all that matters.

Ive been thinking on this a bit . Who benefits from these attempts real and imagined. Sure Trump gets a small boost and it gives the chattering class something to witter about but deep down who benefits?

I am sure the Democrats would prefer a live Trump to a dead one. A dead one creates too many uncontrollables . The storm would be worse than Milton. There would be chaos before an election

No the Democrats would prefer him to stay alive until at least Nov 7

There are a group of people who would benefit the most and that is the nebulous group supporting JD Vance - but why not wait and use the 25th Amendment? Its the easiest slam dunk in history.

Because its problematical in itself. Imagine the blowback. MAGAs havent exactly warmed to JD and would see it for what it is. A coup

But a dead President is easier to shift blame on others.

Anything happening to Trump now wont invalidate the election - it will go ahead as is and further appointments would happen post election if required
