I really think Erasmus fills this needs.Think there's enough around the mark that we'll get a good player that fits our medium term needs.
This board needs to be open minded what those needs are though. Our biggest needs now won't be our biggest needs in 3-4 years and the club anticipating future needs now is just good list management as much as picking for immediate needs now. Wouldn't be surprised if they're already thinking about inside mids in three years time for example.
If he comes into the team then who's next? I think they'll transition him in as soon as next year - If they don't he's probably requesting a trade too.I really think Erasmus fills this needs.

If an inside mid is drafted and they have a bit of versatility to play one or two other roles, I almost think that's a very good player to add to the list tbh (Small forward or winger would also be pretty good). A one position inside mid maybe not so much.
Hoping hes another Hayden Young but unfortunately i see another Darcy Tucker.Fully on board with this. On Lindsay I se another Young ( and you can’t have too many of them ) and Berry gives that cheeky small forward goal kicker

Got to be honest when I first heard this I was very underwhelmed.2024 averages
Disposals: 7.23
Marks: 3.15
Goals: 0.31
Tackles: 1.08
Can see why we were interested...
Use the pick well and they'll at least be out best 30.If the player taken at #14 is going to be struggling for a spot no matter what, maybe playing a few games, the tall will be worth more in trade.

Use the pick poorly and they'll be worth nothing no matter what position they play.
There is a chance we only take the one pick at 14. (I'm still hoping for Berry, our greatest need is a small forward).I agree, but pick the best talent available and develop them appropriately, a few games to show their talent at AFL level and the tall player will be worth more in trade.
I don't think we have the ability to draft a player like Erasmus to sit in the WAFL for years when they almost surely aren't going to be from WA.
Im trying to wrap my head around what our strategy should be and in the end I feel it all comes down to what has been said or not said in conversations between the club and Chad and Kozzy.I think we draft for small forwards, I'm not Einstein but captain obvious.
Then a pearce replacement.
A youngy clone would be great, can't imagine getting a youngy so late in the first round, but hey.
We drafted fyfe and lachie neale in the second round.
Don't see the need for an insider.
We have serong, ab, Johnson. Ras and Will Brodie in the wings.
Yes cubts. Will mother frickin Brodie.
