Just an observation, out of the 30 years we have played, I reckon we have played Sydney in Sydney about 27 times (guessing) not including finals. Just seems that whatever the fixtures that is a given.🤷‍♂️

Carlton playing three times in Adelaide Oval with no trip to Queensland, none in boutique venues, one trip to Sydney and once to Optus is an absolute pisstake

Sorry two trips to optus. Still hate carlton

Richmond is the only lay down terrible team. North and West Coast do have some scope for improvement.

Pies, Dogs and Swans could all win the flag, but the former 2 could also miss the 8. Pretty close to impossible to judge from this far out.

It's probably going to be on the tougher end if I had to guess.

Looking at who other teams are doubling up against, we got a bit screwed but it's not outrageous. For example if we replace St Kilda with Melbourne are we really that much happier? Nobody in the league plays Richmond and West Coast twice.

Edit: maybe not Melbourne given Alice Springs last year lol. But replace St Kilda with Gold Coast and it's essentially the same imo

Carlton and Sydney got absolutely kissed on the dick from their ladder positions though

Worth remembering it can be tricky predicting the difficulty of the double ups this far out. There's usually a bolter or two who would've been a far easier 8 pts the previous season. Port or the Dogs might fall off, Saints could be even worse than this season. On paper it's a tough set of 6, but that could change (for better or worse)

More importantly, this is the kindest fixture we've had in terms of travel in as long as I can remember. The 6 day breaks are annoying but nothing new, and having several stretches of home games will be handy in reducing some of that cumulative fatigue.
