Obviously working hard to be spot on for 2025.

I do worry tough about extra body mass placing extra strain on hamstrings, quads and calfs.

I'm sure the conditioning team will be all over it.

Begs the question - is Sam going to train him up forward and that's why we are seeing the extra muscle.

That would be exciting!
My understanding is that generally speaking any extra muscle mass would only serve to reduce the chance of injury of that muscle. The risk of injury would come from over-training and not allowing the muscle to recover properly, or if an imbalance was created where that muscle is then taking up the stresses that should be handled by other muscle groups.

Alright folks, after a brief hiatus from BF I'm back.
Who are our track watchers to follow this year?
Who has the low down on Serong's size?
Do any of our rookies have hands at least 1.5 time that of Pittonet's?
How many players have come back with new ink?
1. No idea
2. So last year. Mraz was quoted at 298cm though
3. Impossible for anyone to have hands less than that size
4. Rumour is that Will Day bought a Mont Blanc

Muscle mass wouldn't appreciably increase the risk of injury, it does in enhanced athletes because certain compounds can make the tendons more brittle or will generally allow the strength of the muscle to exceed the strength of the tendon which can result in tears.

The main risks with AFL players being too big is that muscles demand a lot of energy, and a lot of oxygen. It's why players come into pre-season looking quite big but lose a fair bit of size through the season. It's much better to be lighter when it comes to match fitness.

Sorry, I didn’t even realise you weren’t here.
My bad

So happy to see Butler with Finn, Will, CJ etc the other day looking fit. From day 1 always admired his courage and commitment in the contest and let’s hope he can get some continuity in playing and the opportunity …… so he can always feel in the back of the mind he’s had a good crack at AFL. I’ve still got hope young man 👍

Ty, looking forward to your updates.

The start of the AFL season is more like Christmas these days for me.

So looking forward to 2025

If Weddle moves to CHF then it’s confirmed Sam Mitchell follows me on BigFooty… Maybe.

Would love to see it.

Yes thanks N89 great listen and like what I hear. Main backline 7 of Barrass/Frost/Battle/Siss/Scrim/Impey/Amon. Weddle as CHF with Chol/Dear as the other talls …… wowee with Wiz/Ginny/Croc/Moore at their feet. Can see us kicking 100 points a game plenty of times with this forward structure. Lewis coming back would also be a big bonus.
And the progression/improvent of the youngsters after a few years in the system.

It’s all coming together very very nicely 👍
