You won't regret it!
I changed back a few years ago.
Far quicker, less complicated, easier to flash whilst holding a tray of beers.
And you can always take a snap of the barcode if you do still want phone access. Win Win WinWin

If Draper is dominating the running, the rest of them should be embarrassed about that.
Exceptional fitness of a kid vs acceptance of mediocrity... We have been the masters of the latter in recent years, I'm getting another mid-low end table finish vibe already. Another long year ahead... I desperately hope not but I probably shouldn't expect miracles when the song remains predominately the same.

What are you on about? Who gives a shit about who is dominating the running? It means absolutely nothing.

You think this acceptance of mediocrity led to us hiring Burgess and that our lack of fitness has cost us?

Fitness has not been an issue for us at all!

Our position on the AFL ladder for first halves - 12th with 11 wins, 12 losses.

Our position on the AFL ladder for 2nd halves - 6th with 14 wins, 9 losses.

Lol, we've been in a full rebuild in recent years. What did you expect? Be the youngest team in the league and compete for a flag?

The only truly disappointing year was last year. We should have been 3+ wins better than that.

This year looks better. If we can get a full year from Thilthorpe, if Rachele plays as well as he looks - we have a bunch of players who should be continually improving, and they at least look like they're taking it very seriously.

With our list, we should have played finals the past 2 years if we weren't dragged down by Nicks.

And our record for full matches last season was?
14th - with 8 wins 14 losses and 1 draw for the record.

Why the need to be so terse?

Our record was 8-14-1.

And it had absolutely nothing to do with fitness. Your suggestion that Draper coming in and running faster than a bunch of players in December means we accept mediocrity is just nonsense.

Ha ha ha.... You think our fitness was an issue last year?
You are the one plugging fitness not me. I merely pointed out that acceptance of mediocrity is a near hallmark of this group. They don't seem troubled by failure/mediocrity is what I'm saying. The coaches seem happy for the song to remain the same and on the back of that I'd say we aren't going anywhere.

As for fitness I don't see us being significantly fitter than any other team.

I guess new year, new chance to prove differently... I have to hope that Murray Davis can drive things forward rapidly.
If not we'll miss finals again.

Plenty of first years come in and dominate running at different clubs

Was a weird post

We did have a pretty weird pre season last season though , never felt we were on track compared to previous pre season

This isn't a comment on fitness?

I dont think we have superior fitness to other sides, just that it hasn't affected us negatively over the past 2 years. Plenty of other issues we need to fix - rather than a new draftee running faster than a bunch of players in December.

I didnt see it as a comment on fitness as the only observation

I saw it as blokes doing enough to get through a season

That could be a good thing ie they are playing a long game and letting the young pups run around and yap knowing its a long season

Or they are indeed coasting - we will see once the season starts

Remember mindset is important and the leaders set the mindset

This phrase "acceptance of mediocrity" is such a weird fan invention.

The club started a massive rebuild and has been the youngest side for a number of years. The only really disappointing year was last year, as the others were pretty much what you would expect a rebuild looks like.

Was Nicks the right coach for that rebuild? Hard to know, but he has used up whatever he had in the bank, and this is a must deliver year.

Looks a pretty handy team to me,
No way should have they come anywhere near last

Did you look at the spine ....and our bench

You're looking at the current Fogarty .....not the struggling Fogarty of 4 years ago

You're looking at peak Talia ....not the injury riden Talia

1st Year McAsey ? .....Frampton LOL .....Brad Crouch, enough said

The excuse at the time was a limited preseason to learn the new game plan because of Covid.

In hindsight, more likely just poor new game plan & coaching.

That is a handy side that should not have won a spoon.

What does running in December have to do with bloody anything?

I would understand it if we had been getting run over in the last quarters / halves of games. If we didnt have the best fitness guru in the industry at our club.

Trying to judge anything on a December running session is plain stupid.
