Dees just posted an article comparing Langford to Oliver and Trac when they started and stating he will play more as a forward in 2025.

Comical when clubs are going for speed and agility we decide to load up our forward line with blokes who can’t get out of 1st gear.

Yeah he will likely be a decent player in time but right now, he isn’t what we needed. **** Goodwins obsession with inside contest does my head in.
Yep, an article written to lower expectations on the new boy, whilst maintaining excitement.

I do not expect that Langford will play in the 1sts, until at least Rnd4/5...

Lol. So the captain and the president etc all say perfect club, great culture etc

19 year old kid- yeah it's shit house culture and we need to change.

Probably dropped for round 1 now for not toeing the cult lines

Ah yes best culture in 40 years Pert. I don't know why i never reviewed his history sooner

Joins Fitzroy and is part of finals teams before in the backend of the 80s they start to slump their way towards finically unstable and then onward into their death in the 90s
Leaves Fitzroy for Collingwood that plays two losing finals in his time before his last season before they slump and go missing for seven seasons after. (I'd point out one person he played footy with was questionable but not ready to debate pies fans)
Returns to Collingwood as CEO and while does oversee success (See Melbourne later lol) still the height of the rat pack and some other issues post premiership

He's kinda right though, those are some low bars to clear within 40 years

We all know Pert and Goody were putting on a bit of spin. 2 things I took away from this little puff piece. 1. Windsor is a beauty. 2. Clarry is looking fit and is clearly in a good space coming back early.

Usually i feel like we've tweaked the game plan since 2023 preseason. Everyone oohs and ahhs the first few rounds, then when goes to shit the players and coach (in whatever order) shit themselves when we get challenged and go back into our shells and old habits

Yeah, I remember doing a lot of ooohing and aaaahing at the Hawthorn game early in the year. All that short kicking, quick decisive decisions, cutting the angles...

Worst thing is when we go back to old style it oftens works for a bit, catches a few teams out or maybe just bores them to sleep. We get a few wins and it reinforcers the bad habits.

The best teams are attacking but they have different modes that they switch too when needed to conserve energy, halt momentum etc. Thats what I want to see.

The one that sticks out in my mind is the Sydney game the year before that

That said i remember us trying to re-tweak it after a midseason slump. The first quarter of that final against Carlton was daring to take the inside kick, then when the blues came back at us in the second quarter we shit ourselves
