Please can somebody explain to me what everyone sees in Acres? Like I just don't understand.

He just seems like another Jack Newnes. Only will ever be remembered for one iconic moment with us.

His kicking is just deplorable. How many times do I have to see him lace out to an opponent or give the crowd a free ball?

The most diabolical loss in memory. It never occurred to me that we'd lose this game; more fool me.

De Koning brilliant, but there were too many players who simply weren't making a basic effort for football at this level. Cerra has gone missing too often on these types of occasions.

Nomcourage?
No system
No skill
No courage

Coaches have had months to plan for playing against the most inexperienced side and we were like Deer in the headlights.
Just an appalling perfoamce

No courage?flipping lol any player that plays this game at the highest level has an abundance of courage…did you miss the collision with hollands???

How the **** are you blaming one person…Voss? 20 odd players that actually played like shit, many are ****ing soft as butter…first half we were cooking and Voss had a great style going…then the actual players ****ed it.
He was out coached….

I am really dirty I didnt back Tiggers at 10 to 1
Voss has to go - has to - the whole joint is rooted
We are laughing stock again
No membership for me next year - Bottom four here we come

That was one of the worst games i have seen us play

Players panicked, arrogant and selfish.

If this is what Voss wants in terms of gamestyle, he won't see out his contract

If players aren't adhering to his instruction, then he needs to make a statement

This wasn't about the holes on our list, this was a lack of buy in

I
Suddenly trading McKay for Petracca wouldn't have torn the heart out of the club.

We got in Jagga Smith to address our slow midfield and did sweet FA else.

Austin and his painfully slow approach to addressing deficiencies can go too.
I am sick of hearing how our 2 big Coleman medalists are the best key forwards in the comp….

The fact that 1 of them can’t even trust himself to go back and kick a straight drop punt from 15m out directly in front is a joke!

And to surround them with the poorest small & medium forward contingent in the league is very frustrating!!

Great point we
Team filled with inside midfielders loses the game on the spread against athletic young players with pace. I’m shocked to be here.

Pathetic performance. Never been more embarrassed to be a Carlton supporter.
looked slow on the outside again. Walsh had very limited impact. Such a shame on Jagga as he was a point of difference. Cerra, Lord and Cripps all lack leg speed.

I'm not embarrassed or disgusted, just deeply disappointed.
Even when we were well ahead the signs were there that it was a bunch of players, not a team.
All night we were incoherant and unsure what it was we were exactly supposed to be doing and every player looking for someone to take the lead.
Whatever the message was this week during the build up, it wasn't getting through. Either the coaching staff didn't work hard enough to get the message through or the players just didn't get what it was.

I will still be full throttle behind them next week and every week after.
The only time I've never wanted to talk about a match was when Klomp got BOG after having 8 possesions, but even then I wasn't as embarrassed as Klompy and Lou Richards who gave him the award :p

Last 2 premiership season games the CFC have dished up the embarrassing 60-0 v Brisbane just before half time EF .
And now conceding 12 of the last 14 goals to the wooden spooners .
CFC are truly specialists in embarrassing themselves whilst at the same time ripping the heart out of its supporters .

People get sucked in every year by ‘track watchers’ telling us how much so and so has improved.

An honest look at our team before the game would have revealed that this was a very weak team.

  • Haynes hasn’t been AFL standard for 3 years.
  • Lucas Camporeale might be AFL standard in 2 years but he is not now and the fact he was picked shows how bad our coaches are. (how could such a beautiful kick have twin boys that can’t kick at all)
  • Francis Evans has been delisted by 2 clubs in 3 years.
  • Cottrell has never been AFL standard but gets picked every week averaging 10 disposals a game
  • Fogarty has no AFL traits but gets picked every week
  • Doc’s practice matches showed he is really struggling

That is 6 players who would not get anywhere near a game at the top 6 clubs.

And the coaches that thought playing Weitering, Silvagni, McGovern and Haynes in the one backline can’t actually be AFL coaches.

Anybody who is shocked by tonight needs to understand the players and coaches are simply not as good as you think they are.

Obviously the “sack the coach” calls are ridiculous, it’s round 1 and that mob, as horrific as they are, beat Sydney last year.

But my god are there some glaring issues we need to fix in a hurry lest the season slips away before it even gets started.

The good: Weiters, SOS, parts of Cripps game.

The bad:

Doch: 14 touches in a quarter is huge work rate but missed 2 very gettable goals and that handball was a complete shocker

Harry: missed Charlie desperately. Had no answer. The delivery was putrid, but he didn’t compete.

Jesse: He’s not a great finisher, and he completely disappears for extended periods. Didn’t see any sign of the step up we need from him.

I’m gonna be harsh and put Lucas here: he tried his guts out and found the ball, but his disposal was really poor and his decision making showed he wasn’t ready. Not his fault and there’s plenty to work with but I’d like to see him in the VFL to build some form

Williams: goes missing for too long. Needs to be a consistent 7/10 and he just isn’t.

Haynes: Had a shocker, as fumbly and poor by foot as anyone. I’m not giving up on him yet but he doesn’t have much time to turn it around

The worst:

Mentality. We play like a team that is mentally weak, and not up for the fight. I don’t know where it came from, but the group stinks of it right now.

They know they should be good. They know they aren’t, and it’s threatening to spiral in a hurry if they don’t get a hold of it.

We’re gonna find out in a hurry whether we have good leaders at our footy club.

Club is still over correcting after a century of arrogance.

No physical pressure put on a super young opponent. They let Kemp get roughed up twice in 10 minutes and he subsequently vanished.

Cottrell is not a half forward.
Motlop is not an AFL footballer
Haynes looks malnourished
Walsh is the very definition of Vanilla.
The Campo boys are the same thing we already have 8 copies of - Slow plodding runners with rubbish disposal.

The Spine is great. The rest is a bunch of super fit slow wingers with terrible footskills.

Hewitt/Cerra/Walsh - Slowest, Slow, Slower but thinks hes Usain Bolt. And none can kick.

Motlop, lets face it... he's not AFL standard. Slow, lazy.

Harry is a mouse.

I like Ollie, reminds me of Kade Simpson. Played ok, isnt a Half Back.

Still not blaming Voss, just a really awkward list.

I've been saying its the players for several years. I'll say it again. We've literally wasted every trade and draft period since 2015. And I still would have traded Harry McKay several years ago.
