Assuming Boyd comes in I really want to see some attacking flair from him.

He's good defending one on one whether it be taking the grab or winning the free but I just don't see him running past for the hb receive and then slicing open the opposition (which he's perfectly capable of doing).

Get your skates on Jordan and be that guy.
OR

Just be happy he will chase, apply pressure, fight well above his head for a guy his size. And he will hit some ve try attacking and creative kicks.

Sometimes we want players to be what they’re not. He doesn’t have the engine to do the repeat running required to do the role you want. Can’t have it all.

Anyone else think that Cripps in the ruck is a good option?

Can’t blame him for being fatigued late in games considering his trying to do everything else.

It’s decisions like this that can become coach killers, just saying.

Don't like it at all, occasionally it's fine, but that's about it

Hes not wrong. He showed about 5-6 examples of Carlton players running the ball only to pick from 70-80m out when they had the inboard handball. I guarantee Collingwood hawthorn and GWS would have used the extra out through the middle EVERY TIME.
No surprise Sam Walsh showed up as one of the culprits, he’s been murdering us since last season with his junk disposal.

If you go back to 2023, our forward handballs were there, especially centre square. Remember even Walshy bursting out of the centre and lacing out to a leading forward.

We need to find that confidence again, how it clicked in the 2nd Q vs GCFC.

Walsh needs to be on the outside kicking inside fifty not dumping kicks out of stoppage.

Please Vossy return him to the wing.

If he's being heavily tagged, then its a good way to allow him to take the contest without someone all over him, but the trick is to switch it up. Swapping with JSOS makes the most sense if we need a foil for TDK.

TAB currently Carl 1.95 Dogs 1.85 wtf??

I thought the 1.50 Hawthorn was generous. Nudging even money the doggies...have they swapped coaches boxes???

Shame, maybe Carroll then?

Cowan doesn't get dropped. One bad game and he is out apparently

He isn't dropped in my last effort as Matt Carroll probably isn't ready to come in. He has had two bad games in my book though, and I'm concerned about our lack of pace in our defence.

Cripps likes taking ruck hitouts because he escapes the tag. Nobody else can touch the 2 ruckman.

It is a good tactic and works quite well. It's not like he's taking centre bounces and jumping into a bigger opponent. Not sure why it would cause him to be more fatigued as he gets worse treatment from his staggered at all other ball ups.

I hate it. Use Kemp in there a couple of minutes a qtr if needed to get him involved. Keep Cripps doing Cripps things

It’s fatiguing because rucks are wrestling, Lloyd showed great footage of this on Footy Classified I think it was 4 ruck contests in a minute & Cripps was too gassed to chase. The number and % time in the ruck had jumped massively since last year. Some times coaches have to be strong enough to tell Captain you don’t get to do what you like but instead play the best role for team performance.

I’m of the belief that if we win this we also win round 4, if we lose this we will lose round 4. Think 0-3 probably makes the group a bit mentally stressed, 1-2 and the season is recoverable and they’ll relax
