Zebras maybe plucking players from the Sandy Hotel with amount of injuries we have already. Another tough year ahead.

At least they have had a clean out and gone out and recruited a lot of fresh talent. Time will tell how they stack up but they cant be any worse than past top up players. We were always going to get injuries its just the excessive number at this time of year seems like deja vu.

Honestly Ross talks about being a serious football club.

If we want to be a serious football club we need to address the strength of our VFL team.

The VFL listed players have been rubbish for too long. It needs to change.

Most things are looking much better for the club but I'm still very concerned about Sandy.
If you have 8 of your best 22 out and an expanded bench for the senior game, you are going to be light on for the 2nds. Wouldn't read too much into it. Plenty that were good in the 1s will play a lot of 2nds this year. Our depth is building so Subject to injury there is enough there to be very competitive

The problem is our VFL players have not been up to scratch historically.

And it hasn't really changed from what I can see from our VFL recruiting.

Sandy has been a decent team when we have a full cohort of AFL players to choose from but the minute we are hit with injuries there is no backup quality. We're not the only AFL club that has injuries so we can't keep using that as an excuse every year for how Sandy perform.

I agree I would like a couple of really high level state league players. But at what cost? Does that mean a Garcia or boxshall type lose minutes developing their craft? I like that we've signed up some younger local talent that hopefully see it through the next few years and turn into solid players. I also like that these types are likelier to perhaps be draftable in the future if we take our sandy aligned player. I'm tipping it's not til this point that we will start to see some better vfl players interested in joining

Couldn’t agree more. We used to have guys like Answerth, cook cockie, even Brede Seccul. Now it’s utter trash.

How did collard go? Watching kako the other night highlights how important the small forwards are. We need him to come good
