Apparently he played 13 matches for South Adelaide in the SANFL last year and averaged 25 hitouts. So he's played against men and more than held his own.

Didn’t play seniors mate. Only played U 18’s. It was his first year in an elite environment, as he previously prioritised his basketball over Footy.

And if we're talking about size and playing seniors. We had Bergman, Goater and Archer all debut in their first seasons with a combined weight of about 40kg's. If there's a need and he plays well enough in the reserves, he'll play.

If we develop him well, he could be getting a few games by the end of his second season.

Exactly. It was going to be 12 more months of him sulking and being a pig towards anyone who pushed back. Better to just move on. Very happy to get Wardlaw and Goad in return.

We have two other ruckman on our list. One of them is only a back-up ruckman at best.
If Xerri gets injured and Goad starts ok in the reserves then he could be playing much earlier than anticipated.

He’s already 10 kgs heavier, it’s why they say big boys take time, who knows if Edwards loses agility, speed, tank by putting on mass, also who knows if he is ever going to be able to put on the 25+ kgs required.
Pretty confident, 17 year old Goad will be able to stack on 10kgs which would almost be ideal playing weight, and he’s already putting up good numbers with that weight. So less of a gamble already.

Agree. The longer the club lets this issue hang without resolution, the more room there's going to be for innuendo and rumour to spring up. Everyone wants to know who the guy with the big hair sitting next to Clarko was, and at a certain point, the club's silence speaks volumes. What are they trying to hide?

What's his forward craft like? How do you stop someone who's 206cm charging out of the goal square with a sub 3sec 20m sprint? He will play seniors a lot quicker if he can contribute as a forward/2nd ruck.

heck, if Cox can play that role for the pies premiership team surely Goad can have a crack?
