this.
should have kicked the goal, yes (could also have been a 50 but hey), but how quickly we let them take it back the other way is far worse.
I am stunned that with the time that was available to set up the ground while Jones wa staking his shot we couldn’t do so.

That Collingwood went coast to coast in about 15 seconds beggars belief.

Their kick inside 50 was to a 1 on 2 on the boundary line 45m out, we lost the game by letting Elliott take a chest mark between two players.

Sure….how about the two passes before that?
Collingwood opened up the fat side and it paid off, end result was that their final kick inside 50 was to an outnumber(everyone is losing their shit over Heppell doing the same thing) on the boundary line and we let them mark it, that was the worst bit of the final 45 seconds.

Not arguing that the final contest wasn’t appalling….it was.

Langford kind of stops dead for a second to possibly cover the Pies player at the top of the 50 who has a break on their opponent (can't make out the Ess, player - that Ess player themselves is actually covering Elliott's lead and that kind of ends up stuffing it up as if he had continued tracking his player Langford probably never stops running). Obviously the kick went to Elliott and this lost time ends up being enough for Langford to not get there to do enough. And Kelly just got played...

It's hardly unreasonable to say that players like BZT were savaged from the start in terms of fan expectations despite being asked to play on the likes of prime Charlie Dixon, especially compared to the kid glove treatment Jones receives from the fans.

bzt doesn't play on anyone. he plays an 'interceptor' role. he has a much easier time than harry jones.

Now he plays more of an interceptor role, but in his first couple of seasons he was absolutely playing roles on opposition KPFs and was given no where near the same leniency for mistakes from fans as Jones receives.

That's not to say Jones should get that level of derision, however he should be held accountable where warranted.

Harry didn't lose the game. He just failed to win it.

Keep in mind the only reason he had the set shot was because of his efforts (and Howe's **** up) and that whatever the **** happened from the kick in was the same issue that's been plaguing us all year - I could see before they even left our 50 that they were about to take it coast to coast.

Can’t knock his efforts in the final minute though to earn himself the opportunity to seal it. Great chase and Howe’s mistake would normally have been innocent enough in a 2 on 1 but he was right there hunting him down. Deserves plaudits for the hunt!
Unlucky with the shot but hell, he’ll grow from it - high pressure situation, just unlucky.

We still have maturity to build as a group. Will come
