Need to play him if we want to keep him. Time to ditch Goldy and start thinking about the future.
It is going to be obvious what they are going to do shortly . They can always refuse to trade but if they do not rate him well he will not be playing .

can’t really hold it against him for wanting more opportunities at senior level.
Not at all. Even if he is only 22 . It will be a simple equation. If they rate him they keep him and hold him to his contract.

well it's a classic situation where he could easily have had 15-20 more afl games and we'd have an idea what we're looking at. as it stands, who knows.

I think 15 to 20 is a stretch . Maybe 10 at best . A ruck has to have some physical ability around the ground. He is young and developing but when you watch him in the VFL younger rucks or smaller blokes easily move him out of marking contests most of the time and you never see him use his size outside of a ruck contest . No doubting his ability in the VFL to find the footy and his skills or even compete in the ruck but he has been Peter Wright Level competitive around the ground at times.
Should have got another game after the GC game and should have been in the side again a couple of weeks ago but he did have an opportunity to grab the number one spot over summer with Draper being injured but Goldy had is number in all the match sim and he got a good shot at it.
Would not blame him if he left. We should keep him for next year at least .

Like someone said just throw him in the deep end for a few matches, you never know when someone plays in a higher quality environment. Might have a naturally limited tank is something that will need to be worked on/managed

Started strong but looked gassed as the game went on. Saw Darcy leave him for dead a bunch of times. Was definitely the right call to be subbed (as bad as Lav was today).

Wasn’t disastrous but… if Peter Wright is seeing this bloke get a game ahead of him and it’s not an almighty kick up the arse, then there’s no hope for 2MP.
The Draper Bryan combo can only continue if Draper continues to be a threat in the air as a forward. Bryan needs to be the main ruckman because he can’t play forward. 2mp has been useless in the ruck and up forward recently.

I don't know if I'd call it forward craft but Draper does have something he brings to the forward line. At least he looks like he enjoys kicking snags so he should be fairly well motivated to train as a forward.
