But in truth, from a pure playing list perspective & setting all emotion aside:

I’d probably rather have neither.

It’s time for some of our kids to shine.

I guess that's the frustration about the Adams deal then.

Sad Parker couldn’t leave with a premiership medal around his neck and 300 games notched on the locker but it doesn’t change what he did for the club.

Ultimately, putting emotion to the side, it’s the right decision for both player and club to part ways. Gives our depth players more of a sniff which is more important for the team moving forward. Sheldrick, Cleary, Wicks and Adams will be licking their lips as it’s a favoured son out of their way to hopefully earn a spot back in the team through good form and performance.

Thank you Luke, I will miss you dearly but happy you get to bat on and hopefully improve the quality of the opposition for the sport I love!

I don't understand where this notion that he 'may struggle to get past round 10'. This isn't a Kennedy breaking down with repeated soft tissues. Parker has been impeccably fit for almost his entire career, with bone breaks his main injury source, and a VFL suspension this year he should never been in a position to incur. He's slowed down a touch but he showed in the PF he still has an integral role he can play for a side, and even on GF day he played his role pretty well. To criticise him because he's not 10 years younger and able to play through the middle is to confuse the value he adds to the team currently.

As someone else said, for the next two years we'll have Adams on the list. Would you rather have Adams for those two years or Parker? Adams isn't the player he was either, but somehow he's got an 'extra' year out of the club that Parker wasn't able to get.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really like Adams and thought he got the raw edge of the wedge this year.

No, I want the club to play the players who deserve it. Parker ended last year in our top half and had he not been injured, would have started in the midfield ahead of Adams. Can't blame the club for starting Adams in his place, but once Parker proves his fitness he should have come back in. There is no evidence that the end is here for Parker. His role changed and he had some cracking performances up forward and changed the game a couple of times when he was thrown into the middle. Had a couple of quiet finals due to the role he was asked to play.

We won't know, but I'm also supremely confident that had we not committed an extra year to Adams, Parker would be on our list next year.

I never said I didn’t want Parker in the list. I was preparing for another year of Parker.
Let’s just sit back & get back to this discussion this time next year. You may be 100% right SM & once again we’ve got a list management decision wrong.
Yes Adams was an interesting one & it may be what sent Parker over to North.
I’m not sure what to think. Too PISSED with anything red & white ATM.

I’m very sad to see him go. It will kill me to watch him in that club’s colours.

But I want him to keep playing because he is a competitive beast. He gave his all for us including in the GF. Just as he showed up some of his team mates in that game he will show any smart young Roo who wants to learn, how to play hard footy.

Yeah I think this was on the cards at some point.

I have a feeling when Swans play North next, it will be like Hannebury’s last game against us (or ironically Parker’s 4th quarter against North this year as sub).

He will go besserk - it will be a good test to see how much Sydney has hardened up.

Whilst I agree, the same method should probably be applied to Chad Warner's 2022 GF, which the media think was so amazing.

He had 12 disposals and 2 goals in the 4th quarter when the margin at 3QT was 74 points. Had 4 touches in the first when the game was alive.

Just junk-time stat-padding and Champion Data fell for it.

I don't think Parker should get a pass mark for his GF, but the media aren't rushing to give him one either, so it's a bit unfair that he's been singled out by some for a poor GF when he had about 20 mates. His finals series overall though was not where it needed to be, defensive jobs or not, and it's for that reason I'm confident we're not losing a player that important to our fortunes next year.

Yeah people would tear him to shreds because they have no ****ing idea. As I’ve said, if he’s going, do the right thing by the club and go now so we can get decent value. Meanwhile, the first thing we have heard from any of the players on socials is Chad flogging boxed mattresses. Quite ironic considering the side was asleep for the Grand Final. I’ve managed to stop myself from posting a response, for now.

While I don't disagree, the hardest part or should I say most disappointing part is that he won't play game 300 here and he won't finish a 1 club player, although that last part would have been easier to swallow if he had played 300 here.

In any case, best of luck to him, he's not the first player to finish his career at another club and he won't be the last.

I think it will be a great loss to the club with Parker leaving after the sides performance in the GF. His leadership will be sorely missed on and off the field, something Norf have identified that they need. In the last couple of years he has been required to do more negating roles which has teduced his attacking play because that is what he was asked to do something that players like Dusty or Danger are not required to do as they age. To see him having to wrestle Andrews and even Alir in the finals I believe was a waste of his talents in the two biggest games of the year. Why not use one of the other tall to do a negating role. Disappointed to see him go but totally understand the reasons. Good luck Luke.

Been a champ for us. It will be weird seeing him in a NM jumper, disappointing he won't be a one club player with us.
Makes us weaker imo, no way we have the same injury run next year....but if he wants midfield time, it's probably the right move for him and probably prolongs his career for another year.

It's disappointing that none of the gun midfield trio of Hannebery, Parker, Kennedy got a 2nd flag with us or got to finish their careers with us in a manner more deserving, Kennedy's through injury, and the others at other clubs. They all played the right way.

All the best Parks! Been a great servant of the Swannies and was always in our best when he was prime. New journey for him now guiding another fresh side to a become a more competitive outfit.
