My point is the ex knew what she was doing going to the afl instead of the police

If she goes to the police likely all that would have occurred is maybe another fine

And afl would leave it at that as police dealt with it and thomas free to play

Go to the afl and maybe can ruin his career as the afl can’t keep being seen to let something like this slide
This post makes zero sense.

Maximum damage route

Not a criminal matter so police wouldn’t have done much so goes to the afl again instead
But you suggest that if they had gone to police and nothing happened the afl would also do nothing…
But because they didn’t go to police the afl did something.
That makes no sense

I don’t think the afl would have overridden a decision made by the police/law

Dealt with by the police and ends there

Nope
Seems you have comprehension issues

No I comprehend very well. Look at what you wrote.

The whole of that post points the blame at the female. The bolded bit, stating she knew what she was doing, defines how you view her actions.

You may as well have said straight out, its her fault, she should have just shut up and put up.

Let's be honest here. You are far more concerned about us losing a highly talented footballer, than you are about her wellbeing.

Incorrect again
My point is she should have gone to the police

he cant play VFL. l am not sure on the SANFL or WAFL leagues though...Maybe someone else can clarify this..

"Thomas has been suspended for 18 AFL matches and has been suspended from participating in any other football competition at any level until 22 July 2024", the League said
May just be me, but it seems he cannot play anywhere between Auskick and Professional AFL

There is no basis for that conclusion. There are two separate systems in place that had the potential to look at his behaviour, being the AFL Player rules, and the criminal justice (Police) system. But for the latter to be her first port of call, there had to be something that constituted criminal behaviour and I don't think that's her responsibility to determine.

Given that he was sanctioned by the AFL/NMFC last year for his earlier actions, I think it was natural enough for her to report the repeat offences to the AFL. That then allowed the AFL to review the new allegations in conjunction with the old offences and then determine an appropriate further penalty.

Even if she had gone to the police and had the case dismissed I think the AFL would have sanctioned him in the same way. While it may not have been enough to warrant a jail sentence it is still damaging for the AFL and requires some sort of sanction.
Potentially
But let it play out that way then is my point

Not go straight to the afl and bypass the police maybe dismissing her case

Not incorrect. Read your words. This is what you said.

You never said, "She should have gone to the Police" which is what you should have said.

Ok didn’t know that. Still, he can turn it around if he wants it.

Look end of the day we did the morally right thing, I think technically we could have kept him post his suspension and assuming he stayed clean over those 18 weeks but he broke trust and it wouldn’t have been a great look especially with our aflw program etc
we could have.

We may as well had printed official invites to the media circus it would have created.

While it would be 'interesting' to read the texts, in the greater scheme of things it is absolutely none of our business.

And "Im A cLuB mEmBeR, i DeSeRvE tO kNoW!", is not a valid argument.

is someone able to post the article?
