He didn't struggle on Stephenson in the air. He couldn't go with the lightening pace (especially with under some sort of injury cloud).

I doubt Stephenson has troubled anyone in the air. His go is on the lead and working back to goal.
Point, but he still struggles with the medium types at both levels, as compared with the smaller types.

feel like mason is critical to our coming good next year..

if he gets over his injury concern (whatever it was) and gets back to previous levels he can counter the loss of saad with his bullet kicking and zip, if he remains the version of this year - its trouble

Our defenders get zero help from the midfielders. Its not surprising he had some shockers and looked in bad positions at times. But fwr out when ya mids turn it over on halfback 4-5 times in a row resulting in repeat 50 entries its not surprising defenders eventually get found out of position.

I'm willing to write off 2020 if Mason is. I'll happily accept the injury excuse for this one, because he looked like a completely different player 2019 compared to this year.

But all sorts of fingers crossed for this guy.
We're now establishing a currently very small young group to hopefully build together - Ridley, Draper, McGrath, Langford.
Redman should also be in there.

Did some nice things. A little rusty at times, but not on him own there.
Did he?

I think he was definitely the worst of the backline.
Whenever he got it he took an age to dispose of it and was shocking defensively.

Coaches need to be held responsible. Wouldnā€™t be one person here who believes playing Francis,Laverde and Redman in the backline together is a good idea. Have all regressed or gone nowhere. All horrible decision makers and defenders and all fumble and panic and make terrible decisions under pressure. How do we think we can play with an undersized backline when we get outmarked all over the ground.Hooker has to play back because at least he can compete in the air and has height.

Hooker looked painfully slow. Has to be full forward or at home.

Didnā€™t come off for him tonight, but heā€™ll kick bags.

Hooker was cooked years ago. Heā€™s currently on an account based pension.

Thought he was pretty good. Ran out of gas in the second half but that's okay.

Made a few errors that were more to do with rust, for example he flew at a ball he didn't need to fly at, and him and Hind need to sort out the cover the provide for each other but I was pretty happy with his game.

Can't seem to get through a pre-season so he's always starting slow. I only see reasons to be confident when it comes to Redman.
