    ACCEPTANCE OF FAULT

Ihle has right of reply and says that Mason Redman is accepting that his conduct is worthy of punishment.

He says the onus is on the AFL, however, to prove the level of impact is worthy of being graded as medium.

    NECK THE ISSUE

Tackles that result in a player with his legs upward in the air when his head hits the ground need to be discouraged, Gleeson says. Concussion aside, he says the risk of a neck injury in this case is apparent.

    NOT TYPICAL BONT

Gleeson is also highlighting the way Bontempelli re-joined play, disputing that it was effortless.

Literally every player is in ice and spends two days doing recovery after an AFL game. Plenty of them being jabbed with painkillers and being strapped up before the game too.

If the AFL cared about players experiencing pain they should make the switch to yoga. I’m sure the broadcast rights at 5am on a Saturday are super lucrative.
