Someone has got to be having a laugh naming Daniel Rioli in the AA squad..

According to the AFL website he had 8 ineffective disposals in one game, against the Suns in Round 18 Redman had 34 disposals and only 26 effective.
Seems unbelievable, what stats are they using ?

I did my own check in one of Heppellā€™s recent games since the official stat was 92% DE. The problem with this is the age-old issue where Champion Data still counts long kicks to contests as efficient, even if it results in a turnover. His DE by my count was actually 84% since I donā€™t count long kicks as effective unless team possession is maintained.

I reckon though with Redman itā€™s a case of the tweet erroneously reporting his kicking numbers instead of kicks + hand passes, since there was that game recently where he had 20 odd accurate kicks in a row.

Lunchtime podcast got Mason Redman on their show, interesting to listen to.
  • Covers what he thought went wrong in season
  • Feelings about new coach (another who wants high standards being driven)
  • Love for Gia
  • Changes in his training/playing Philosophy
  • The Ginivan tackle
  • and more

Good get from the boys - he seemed to be very forthright and honest, without the usual media hesitation.

Just got through listening to it. Sounds quite honest and not just media lines he's been fed from somewhere. Very good interview, recommend.

Not sure he sees himself as captain material judging by that podcast. I could be wrong and I do rate his character, definitely one to drive standards...

Not everyone would want to do all the PR stuff that comes with being captain. I think Redman should be in the leadership group though, I like the way he leads by example, and based on his comments he wants the players to all be on the same page and play for the team.

He was probably part of the group that reportedly wanted Ross Lyon to come in and shake things up.

Wouldn't begrudge him if he returned to SA but on the other hand could see it as total utter B.S and he signs a super long term deal to stay at the Dons

He's from Millicent, it's barely even SA. King Island (TAS) is almost as close as Adelaide.
