On the couch - Jon Ralph said that Crows have offered him a big contract. Around the $700-$800k a year range or so.

Said that Redman has gone from not contemplating a move, to having a big decision in front of him.

We havenā€™t made an offer yet apparently??
and that my friends is how Chinese whispers starts

750-800k over 5 would mean we get 1st round compensation. Currently be pick 12. Hes exactly what the crows need so i can see it

Also meams wed probably have to look at paying him 700k/4-5 years now

Alot for a half back! ask Carlton

Well usually with free agency the club and player mangers sit down around the bye week. Also probably the club seeing what heā€™s been offered first before they then make an offer.

Very close to irreplaceable for us off half back. He does so much for us offensively and defensively, he is more than just a runner.

700k well spent to keep him.
The good thing for us should be that more often than not you can pay a slight discount to keep your own player. Would need to be a significant amount to lure Mason to South Australia in which case we'd win out via compensation anyway.

I agree though, Mason is close to irreplaceable

Comp is only worth it if we finish bottom 6-8

Theres no doubt were offering 700k/5 years now imo

We have huge salary cap room next year to front load anyway. Its just whether he would move for the extra 100k or stay

I'd say old mate Ralphy is full of hogshit

Casually talking about him possibly leaving and this is the guy you all spruiked up as a possible captain 2 months ago?

Ya'll move quick.
Not all of us
And what does reports of him being offered big money from another club have to do with that. Heā€™s a free agent.. heā€™s got every right to assess his options. Merrett did the same thing.

Thats why I said 50/50
I know, but it gave an insight of his personal feelings about it.
I add it all up, and it gives me the feeling he is a 50/50 chance of leaving.

He's aggressively pro player movement.
He's a free agent.
He'd be getting good offers.
This contract will be the biggest of his career.

I think the contract we offer will determine if he stays or goes.
He also said he had no ties to Adelaide and he could even finish in Tasmania. The only firm thing he said was one day he would return home to live in Millicent.
Also said he liked what we are building at the moment and what Scott is doing.

ā€œLikedā€ is an understatement. Seems to be Scottā€™s greatest fan, saying stuff like ā€œheā€™ll be our next premiership coachā€ and going off topic when asked questions about other things just so he can go on about Scott.

I pointed out his interview, to highlight his feelings toward player movement. He is all for aggressive style movement. Which was one of the points that formed my view why I think he will seriously consider moving.
