Has Majak been that bad?

For someone who celebrates Hansen and makes every excuse possible to justify why he doesn't deliver, I find such an attitude very hypocritical when it comes to Majak.

Majak adds far more to the side than Lachie. His ruck work alone is enough to justify him being in the team and giving a chop out to Goldy.

Black must play every game from here on and the last spot is between Taz, Daw and Lachie.

If Taz is fit he should get the spot, then Maj, then Lachie.

I don't get it - most posters on here were banging big drums to give Majak a run (I was against). Now he's debuted it kinda feels like people are calling for him to have a run back at Werribee (maybe its a silent minority?)

I have been impressed with Majak. He's performed better than what I thought he would. I think he's a better forward option than Hansen - but seems if he's not kicking 6 goal bags 3 matches into his afl career it's back to the magoos.

He's done his apprenticeship, earned his promotion off the rookie list and has taken his lumps (suspension etc).
He's a legitimately really good project prospect now and I think should get a decent run in the seniors.

You represent international socialism and your views should be dismissed accordingly.

Continuous and ongoing armed revolution in the name of the proletariat.

I agree that if fit Taz should come in for Majak as a KPF, Lachie too.

But Majak's ruckwork and his defensive pressure have given us stuff that those boys don't offer.

I'm inclined to keep him for a bit yet, especially as Taz and Lachie seem to have lingering injuries. I'd want them to be 100 per cent fit.

This is one of the greatest myths in football development.

The top level isn't for learning, it's for performing.

This isn't 2010 any more. No more free rides.

There's a reason Brad differentiates between Black and Daw in the post match conference.

Black took time and was developed in the VFL to the point where he was ready to take the next step as a good AFL standard player. This is how it's done properly. Majak isn't there yet.

It's not a myth. For some they don't develop and instead go backwards and are found out, for other's they need better players around them to show their best and continue to improve.

I think Majak falls under the latter category, as did Mullett based on his skill-set for example.

I couldn't agree more about no more "free rides", been ridiculous as times how we have carried underperforming players - but I think Majak is doing enough to keep his spot for now. That may change if he drops off.

2 of my favourite protags duking it out (and a commie thrown in for good measure).

Popcorn time.

I honestly can't choose between you 2 on this one. But I'm pretty sure Kowski will be off to the gulag... does that get this thread back on track?

How about give an opinion of your own?

Taz and/or Hansen replacing Daw/Black is a discussion point going into the Bulldogs......been elevated by our coach I would have thought.

Majak deserves to stay especially against the Bulldogs. Lachie Hansen doesnt deserve to be back just for the sake of it, Maj deserves another couple of weeks at least cos we all know how many chances Lachies had. Make him take the ressies by storm and then we can think about it

Wasn't my point that I didn't have an opinion strong enough to weigh in on the subject?
Or is passionate conviction the only voice allowed on this forum now?

I think Majak will get dropped for a spell this week, thinking we have West Coast the week later. Is Currie also injured now?? We could do with having Goldy fresh for the West Coast game as well.

Thats the way to treat em Saintly
like yr take no Prisoners attitude
Poster talks you up and you slap em down like some inconsequential piece of detritus
shld stop that from happening ever again

Yeah Give Daw another game v Dogs

We've been a different team since he came into the team, Whether it's intangible in that we just appear more "dangerous" or it's tangible in that it allows us to keep our structure in place for longer. The point is it's working.

Majak isn't a gimmick, he is a serious weapon and must be persevered with, he would have learnt more in that Hawthorn game than in half a season in the VFL. Dealing with and thriving under the heat is the next step for this group. Maj is mo different. They still rush and panic, his development is off the scale, and should be given a decent run at it.

It's no coincidence Goldy is flying.

Right now black and daw > hansen and tarrant.

Lachie and Taz can get fit and their touch back in the VFL.

Snake, are you underestimating the value of Daw in the ruck and its impact on Goldy and Drew?? Daw is not a gimmick.

Hansen has the worst hands below his knees for a KPP in the comp.

That's what ****s him up. Oh and I'm sure he loves a joint or two because he is constantly two plays behind every mother****er.

Daw stays because he's Black. Black stays because he's Black.

Everyone else can go **** themselves bar Boomer.
