Pinning a snake to the ground by its neck is the most effective way to stop getting bit.

Whatever the outcome what Boomer puts up with he has every right to pin that prick. Ablett elbowed him in the face - the bloke is a coward.

Boomer reacts like a lot of the great players - Fyfe and Judd have also done similar acts that have cost them weeks.

true but boomers problem is he has form with behind the play incidents and so close to finals he should know better.

I'm reasonably confident (should that be hopeful?) that just as Scotty Thompson helped Stevie J get off a couple of weeks ago, Picken will admit to provocation and also that the arm across the throat was minimal. And really that was how it looked to me.

Yeh boomers been getting tagged from day one pfffffft.
can you not friggen read as well? I did say played 382 and tagged in 381, so yeah you are correct with your comment.

Yes he has to put up with shit, but if you read what I said, he's beaten them before ran Crowley into the ground. Why didn't he do that to picken on Sunday?
so now you expect me to read what you write. pffffffft.

Everyone saying oh the media oh they are out to get us pull your heads in. He had his forearm across a blokes throat and he will have to pay his due. 2 weeks and if it's three thankyou very much there goes our year!
I for one don't give two hoots what the media carries on about, so I suppose Everyone does not really mean everyone.

anyway get back to slamming Harvey, you seem to be enjoying it:(

I'm basking in the glory that my favourite player will be suspended and miss potentially our only final :/

Just looking at it with two open eyes mate. The disappointment is strong because it's not the first time it's happened!

Wells has accepted 1 week ban. Right thing to do IMO, although the bump was very much open to argument. But given both incidents, and the fact Boomer is up tonight, there was simply no need to contest that.

I know and I think you could seek some help

no mate you are comparing it to a strangle hold that lasted over 15 seconds, bluffed by the media.

I hope i am not wrong in this, but is Boomer's availability for finals being called into questions from our ridiculous decision to fight his suspensions in 2012......

I am pretty sure he could have accepted a lower penalty than 6, but they chose to fight it, and he got 6, which i guess you could say cost us finals last year.

Now in 2014, he could miss a final based on that same challenge which ultimately meant he got six weeks and a 40% loading for future cases?

Interested to hear what Freo's defence for Crowley will be.
Harvey's lying and we're going to bitch and moan about it for 12 months, o wait Fyfe, not sure on that one, seems pretty clear cut.

The loading system is an absolute farce.

I still don't understand if pleading guilty is an option for Harvey and if any discounts apply? On 360 last night they did say it was likely to be graded at 300+ points (3 weeks) given his record, but could be reduced to under 300 and 2 weeks with a guilty plea. But I thought that option wasn't available once the case went to the tribunal?

So...Scott Thompson Liam Picken niggles Barry Hall Brent Harvey well off the ball.

Hall Harvey overreacts and throws Thompson Picken to the ground, applying forceful pressure with his forearm to Thompson’s Picken’s throat.

Hall has to be dragged off Thompson Harvey gets off Picken after about 5 seconds.

Hall is found guilty is wrestling and fined $4,000, reduced to $3,000 with an early plea Harvey gets ???

Am I the only one to see the parallels? This incident is much more similar to the Hall/Thompson one than the Lake/Petrie one – the key difference being who instigated the whole thing (in the Hall and Harvey events, the ultimate victim was the instigator).

I’m expecting Harvey will get 3 weeks, possibly more due to priors. Times seem to have changed since 2010 (!) But any Dogs supporter who was blaming it all on Thompson and saying he deserved everything Hall gave him, and now calling Harvey a weak sniping dog (and I’ll bet there’s a few of them out there), are hypocrites.
The rules have changed since then.

Anyway why are people attempting to even justify Harvey's actions by reference to Hall who was a thug.
