I agree. But who am I agreeing with? YOTR or Northworth?
YOTR's possessed Northworth, who's post here is one of the more bizarre I've seen in awhile. Welcome to the off season!

Oh, and Boomer can have it as long as he and Bon see fit IMO. They'll make a well considered decision, whichever way it goes.

I suspect that Boomer will be used as a sub at times in 2012. If that is the case, do we want him to be our captain (ala Green), or would we be better doing something else.
I think having a new skipper would be a good thing, especially to fend off GWS with some of our new young leaders...
Scott has indicated that Boomer will be looked at as a sub, and in the twilight of his career, it isnt a bad option. I dont think rounds 1-10, but definitely later in the year.

Bump.

Good thread that needs further discussion.

My thoughts are that Petrie should be given the Captaincy, he would be a tremendous Captain with his physical presence. If he's made Captain, I believe he would become even more physical. Give him 3 deputy's in Jack, Spitta and Wells.

The above plus Boomer, Bastinac, Goldy and Adams in the leadership group. The following year Boomer drops out and that position will be decided on at the time if it is to be replaced.

Make it happen:thumbsu:

Couldnt see a thread, just saw this on twitter. (Which is odd cause I never ever go on it..)

Boomer_29 Brent Harvey

I remember reading today that boomer along with swallow will be late arrivals.

Totally thought this was a Boomer has stepped down thread :p congrats boomer, bit the bullet and made a woman out of her.

She was already a woman and a damn feisty one too.:thumbsu:

The very outdated saying is: "made an honest woman out of her."

Congrats Boomer and Family.Im off to Thailand at xmas time hope the water is gone by then.Is he going to Utah or is he training in Melb.

Brent Harvey happy to stand down as North Melbourne captain

BRENT Harvey would be prepared to give up the North Melbourne captaincy and even retire at the end of next season, declaring he would do "whatever suits the club".

And having returned from the club's "massively beneficial" high-altitude training camp in Utah, Harvey said not making finals next year would be a failure for the Kangaroos.

Harvey, 33, signed a one-year contract extension mid-season and remains a year-by-year proposition.
