Was 15th in the Syd Barker and I think the likes of Wardlaw, Logue and Eddy Ford with full seasons would have out polled him. He is getting plenty of opportunities this year with Jy, LDU, Wardlaw and TT missing large chunks of games. What I hope for is that we don’t get the whole “Training the House down” narrative in February 2024 to place more pressure on this kid. Going into his 4th season he knows this is his year to deliver on all the promise. A realistic goal should be a top 10 in the Syd Barker for 2024.

He was 1 of 4 blokes to play 16 games with 12 players playing more. So 15th is about on par 🤷‍♂️

Will Phillips: breathes

NMFC BF: * man I can't believe we wasted pick 3 on this bloke ffs we should've got Logan McDonald because Phillips isn't averaging 35 possessions a game.
In his first year he averaged 9, in the second one (third year) he averaged 18 so if he keeps that trend up he'll get 35/6 in 2024.

Maybe best on is a stretch but certainly up in that area against Collingwood, essendon and Suns
1 vote in his 3rd year as a starting mid. Take off the rose coloured glasses people and move on. G.W got more votes with half a leg and no pre season.
An extremely apt username for someone spouting such bollocks
And WTF is zoomba23? Peanut.

Will Phillips' contribution to the team is always going to be too subtle for a number of people to appreciate fully.

I do enjoy the pro Phillips folks implying that the Phillips doubters don't understand footy. Always fun.

I take it a step further and suggest they don't understand basic human health

Hard as a cats head, A grade attitude, a low center of gravity hoovering machine with neat skills. He's going to play a lot of AFL footy no doubting it.
I'm not worried about Philips, he looks like he'll play a role going forward. Still, will be 3rd or 4th best mid when all of the best 22 is out there.

His first Brownlow vote in his 3rd season is definitely unders on what you'd want from a top 5 pick mid. Granted, I appreciate mitigating circumstances in his case.

The fact that he didn't secure 28 Brownlow votes in his second season is the reason we should get rid of him immediately.

Behind the likes of LDU, Thomas and Wardlaw? It wasn't that long ago that our midfield looked potentially empty by 2020.

Our midfield will be shit hot once its a bit older. Being third or fourth best player cin it won't be a bad thing.
