Genuine concerns for this bloke going forward. Just don’t see how he fits in?

Can only play one position, is unathletic, below average defensively and below average disposal. Hasn’t really improved his endurance base either, should be finishing top 10 in the shuttle run if he wants to be a starting centre square mid. With McKercher coming in I think he gets pushed out and hard to see a way back for him.

Going to be tough but he has enough attributes to at least be in the conversation. It all depends how each player compliments the strength of others.

His complete lack of fitness puts him at the bottom of the pecking order.

You can’t carry a single position midfielder who can’t run at the required level.

Yeah I've been doing some mock best 22s and assuming we have a good injury run, it becomes difficult to fit him in.

You think Mckercher is going to play as a centre square mid this year?

JHF on initial discussions with clarko - wants me to play half back

Sheezel, having never played half back, plays half back all year

Mckercher weighs 76kgs, and loves to run………. Im guessing he plays all year ……… half back

Even the most bullish will Phillips fans would have concerns
Will be a nice surprise if he takes a big leap this year

Powell isn't ahead but the other two are.
Powell is personal preference on my part so agree to disagree there.

But if you’re sixth/seventh fiddle in your fourth year, there’s alarm bells.

1. LDU
2. Wardlaw
3. Mckercher
4. Thomas
5. Phillips
6. Powell

That’s what I think it looks like going forward in terms of preferences. Sheezel and Duursma to play as forwards, Simpkin to a wing or high half forward.
Imo Phillips and Powell with need to fight for that 5th string midfielder position, and the other will likely peter out.
