I think if Charlie can put on about 8-10kg in the off season, look out, he will be imposing. He has the ability but he needs to get a little stronger to help with the one on one contests. McKay should take him under his wing and become bench press buddies over the off season, to build his upper body strength.

8-10kg in 4 months 😅😅

Needs to be gradual and carefully calculated so he doesn’t lose any of this other key attributes

Hopefully he can have an injury free pre season but he cops a bad injury during pre season and starts the season late and can’t get going in the VFL I worry for his future on the list as I believe he could be the modern day Eric Lissendon who’s career was cut short by injury.
Maybe his saviour could be a special development coach that takes him Edwards Spicer Goater Paul Curtis JHF Phillips and Powell to the next level and that man is

Send him to Darwin and I will feed him Greek food for a week, and once that week is over, I will send him back to Melbourne 5kg heavier.

Then all he has to do is, put on 1/2kg a week while working out in the gym and he will be at that weight in two months. After that, he can concentrate on the last 2 months on his fitness.

The first 5 minutes of Saturday’s game was really exciting. Comben was involved in everything. Missing his first set shot knocked the wind out of things a bit. In fact, our general waywardness in the first quarter set the general tone for the day. Regardless, the Larkey/Comben combo lit the place up briefly. Hopefully, a sneak peek of what lies ahead.

From a good source “he’s had a lot interest from other clubs”

I sit here completely not shocked by that. Why wouldn't they, and you'd hope he'd be thinking well gee North have invested in me.

After all he is the best non playing KPF/ruck doing the rounds and is better than a heck of a lot that play weekly.

Of course is contracted so all good.

Indeed. There was more to the conversation that was about how the club has been in recent years.

Ploughing old ground but I genuinely thought that was what Noble was going to fix, a top down governance approach.

Doesn't sound like it quite worked that way.

He’s happy.
Great to hear.

Charlie is an interesting one. I personally have really high hopes for him.

It's been a difficult few years for him - all the club issues aside, he just hasn't been able to stay on the park. I could see how he would be looking around if he does have an uninterrupted 2023 from an injury perspective & still only gets 1 game. It's very unlikely. He should be 10+ games in 2023 with a clean run of injury.
