IF that's the case, I hope we say no deal and let him rot in the VFL. We will still be paying a large chunk of his salary and get nothing for him trade wise. So if he has gone out of his way to devalue himself, why don't we devalue him and let him rot in the VFL for two years?
Nah. If he wants to go get rid of him.
Don't want someone like that on the list.

I dont care you think you wont play in a final. But your first off the rank if something happens.
For him to run out in Horses jumper and serve that crap up as a NM player is a disgrace.
Hang your head in shame you selfish campaigner and if you dont want to work hard to earn your spot back you can **** off back home to your mother.

That's exactly what he wants. You can't tell me he would have put that effort in if he was playing for Fremantle on Friday?

This is nearly one of those occasions where I wouldn't blame the club for not trading him at all and letting him rot. In two years time his AFL career would be shot, so if he doesn't want to play for a club who is paying him handsomely then let him ruin his career. Why should we give him what he wants and bend over for Fremantle at the same time? We don't win by trading him for peanuts and we still will be covering his wage most likely anyway.

He hasn't done himself any favours for the club to grant his wish to go home.

This bloke has screwed us over big time.

If he had no intention to honour a contract then why did the little bitch sign it?

If he wanted to go home, he should have just said no and requested the trade.
He just come off a very promising year. North was where he wanted to be.
Whilst I was pissed off with what he produced on Friday night, from the outside we don't know what's going on with him really do we? Could be other personal issues for all we know.
I don't agree with keeping someone on the list just out of spite.
If he wants out, shop him around. Granted his trade value is pretty shit at the moment.
If he wants to go back to WA, well then yes we will get ****ed over. Suck it up and move on.
If he wants out BC of opportunity. Shop him around, take the best offer we can get and move on.

Played three games this year in 18 weeks and everyone expects him to get BOG in a depleted North side? Sure, his attack on the footy was far below par but after a long year in the twos who are we to know the toll its taken on his confidence and how long it takes to adapt to the AFL pace. Hope he makes his way to Freo just to see him relish the space in the forward line where he can maximize his potential.

No ones picking him up at this rate and seriously needs to reconsider where his footy is at. Because at this stage something that looked so promising is destined for the toilet.

As I said earlier, I've jumped off the bandwagon. But I do think someone will pick him up and restore him, piece by piece (a football makeover). Not overnight but one thing at a time. In no particular order, enjoying yourself (in the VFL or whatever the secondary comp is called interstate), then overhead marking (he missed a mark in the first quarter that I could have taken), then kicking for goal, then keeping your feet, then putting your body in line with the ball etc, etc.

I'm thinking Josh Hill at the Weagles compared with Josh Hill at the Dogs.

He's lost his way and I don't think we can save him, other than by trading him and as Thewlis Dish said, pay a large slab of his salary (ouch!). We have to do it as he's just clogging our list.

Nobody expected him to be BOG. That is a ridiculous call. Some professionalism would have been nice, that's all.

Then what is the bar set at for a bloke being called to rot in the VFL on this board after playing a charity game, his third this year?

His fundamentals haven't shown up this season, lucky for him he is contracted or he would be coming home to play WAFL footy next year.

- Taylor Black
necessary?

Paying out a large part of his salary and then getting a 3rd rounder in return is moronic. Keep the guy and make him earn his pay in the gym and the 2's. We shot black when we recruited Waite, it was blacks spot and we just gave it to jarred "I'm 32 and want a 2 year contract or I won't play for you" Waite. Waite is the one who should have had to push his way in, black was played into the ground last year then came off a shoulder reco and then we say go earn your spot back. We shoot out selves more than the * fug we even tried to get Cooney, who's spot was he going to be given? Cunners JZ or maybe LT.. Let's get stevie j so we can **** off Higgins maybe.

I love how everyone is all of a sudden an expert on whats going on in someone elses heads and master analysts of body language.

About as embarrassing as Aarons last 18 months. Grow up.

Whatever we get we'll be paying a chunk of his salary too.
I've never fully understood how this works...

Why should an employer have to pay a part of the wages for someone else's employee?

If he's contracted, but wants to leave, then that is him breaking the contract and the employer shouldn't be held to paying wages stipulated?

How does it work?

If North have to be contributing anything, then the Black can stay on the books and try to turn things around. He looked shocking the other night and I agree us grabbing Waite gas stifled him.

This is my first post after reading these for close to two years. It's hard to believe people are being so hard on Black. This guy has serious talent and finds endless space on the field, we are just so slow at getting it to him. Playing and signing Waite, (admittedly he has been good this year but a band aid approach to a delusional coach that we actually have a chance with another power forward but have a midfield that has so many plodders who to have a good night is to get 19 possessions, i mean jesus to we have a player who can actually get 30+ possessions ), has stalled his development. Remember people he signed a contract with us because he wanted to be with us. Our style of play has gone so horribly backwards that we never find him when he is free. To take our best assest which was attacking play and all but remove i. We beat essendon last year when we were clearly outplayed in half the game, and an ageing geelong that were having a bad night or to group some wins at the end this season against some lower sides. We will see in a game or two time that we arent moving forward/up the ladder with the veteran group we have had for the past 10 years. Hold onto Black jesus.

Another promising player that has turned out to be nothing - our player development ******* sucks

This poor lad's confidence and season was destroyed from the first day of last year's Draft period when we recruited J Waite.

How was he ever going to get a game in a FL with Petrie-Brown-Waite-Higgins-Lindsay-Boomer?

What does the future hold now ?

I think he can still be a handy third tall at Freo under R, Lyon.

I think we will pick a spud with the pick fifty something we get from Freo.

A Black, so much time put into him to get his body right. And then when he is fit, we give up on him.

Another "Why did he do that move" by Brad Scott .....

His 2nd half wasn't fantastic, and there were a fair few shit efforts there.

But his first half was solid, he had good work rate and was creating space. There was about 6 occasions where he had space and was either burned or the kick wasn't too his advantage.

Still a lot of potential there I think, but needs to pack on the KG's.

I can still see him getting a gig here next year, especially considering Drew/Waite are one injury away from the end of their respective careers.

First post and straight into controversy, holding onto Black Jesus?? Anywho moving on you're correct re Waite .Also I'd keep Black if we get offered FA. You must remember what ever pick we get offered that pick must be more likely or it's a waste of time.

Anyways am sure I see you in the Bye bye Brad thread soon enough- welcome :)

I would love him to spend more time in the midfield.

I can't be the only one who sees the potential for him to be more of a midfielder can I? He's quick as ****, neat kick, even on the right good when the ball hits the deck & evasive.

He's not a bad forward but as others have mentioned needs space to work in because he's not a good contested mark, needs it out in front where he can use his speed. There just isn't that space for him.

I think the only thing that would hold him back from being a decent mid would be his attack on the ball, but most guys coming off a shoulder are like that.
