... That's what you take from this. Wooooow.

Yes that's what I take from this. All we have is a managers comments and that's when the knives come out. It's so typical of this board.

People seem to forget how good Black can be if he had an injury free run at it, which he has rarely had.

Maybe he needs to call himself Kieran Black and then he would get some love.

I'm with you DR. Similar things got said about Tarrant too, but he got his body right and now look at the year he's had.
Black has loads of ability, I'm buggered if I want to see another club benefit from that, especially if we got a set of steak knives in return

I think we should persist. I agree he hasn't been 100% fit, and he's been down on confidence. However many players have turned it around and it we know what level his upside is at. Why trade him away on another player with similar difficulties who we don't know, or a speculative pick at best in the 2nd round? I'd try to make it work, unless he wants to leave and perhaps go back to WA, but that's a different situation. Good luck to him either way.

Did Black carry an injury this year?

Precisely, but Taz turned up year after year, working his arse off with his rehab, attending BnF's throughout, and eventually his luck turned and his renewed fitness and vigour led to him securing a permanent and important starting role. IF Black doesn't show tonight I'll believe his manager's word that he's seeking a move. Right now noone's to blame for his predicament but himself. I hope he does stay and does return to his best, for us. If he's seeking a move though he can GAGF'd.

He'd be pretty silly to burn his bridges TT . He doesn't have enough runs on the board to be guaranteed to be picked up by another club.

Wouldn't be the first player to have a look to see if the grass is greener elsewhere. Maybe it will be enough of a wake up call to make him pull up his socks and produce for North.

He'd be the first I can think of, off the top of my head, who does so halfway through a big contract with few runs on the board since signing it two years ago.

Which is probably why he'll get a good wake up call ! :)..

I'd really like him to stay if possible and I think the club should play hard ball. The clubs in the dominant position.
Having said that, I don't know what's been going on behind the scene at the club, and maybe he just doesn't see a future at North. So no point retaining someone who doesn't want to be there.
But if its just a case of a frustrated player who's not getting a run at it because of injury, form etc, then that's retrievable and I'd like him to stay, as he's got the talent.

He could of always played the kind of football that demanded a spot in our best 22 , he didn't . Pretty easy to not look in the mirror .

Perfect.

Harper is soo far away from senior football it is not funny and yet is spoken about like he is a messiah just waiting for the right point to unleash his brownlow winning form in the AFL.

that is ok to blame injuries as it happens to players however Black did play all games if not close to this season and his performances were average. Compare his attitude to Daw in the last game against Richmond and Daw knew he wouldn't be getting a game in the finals but wanted to show the club what he had to offer. His head isn't at North and his performances are affected by it.

Depends on the steak knives tho.

Would only disagree if the money saved would make the difference for a player that is good and gettable now. If we don't need the ready money this year, happy to keep rather than sell at bottom value. Unless Freo go a retro-style stupidly generous trade offer, of course - then I'll pack his bags myself.

Yep that is exactly the position I hope the club is taking.

I suspect Black would be somewhat withdrawn from the playing group. The shame that comes with an above average contract and a way below average performance would be hard to deal with in front of your pears. It's probably a nightmare for him. While elite players are probably doing push ups at home he's playing xbox 0ne and checking his bank account, in disbelief anybody could get that much money for doing **** all

Expanding on DRs point from last page.
The thread has devolved into posters that rarely even post/post regarding Black just hurling abuse, theres no discussion going on at all.
Ive seen more discussion in the trade thread :eek::eek:

Case in point, post as I'm literally typing this, just another cheap shot with no substance to the discussion.

I don't know I'm overpaid and underworked at my job I feel fine.

Who has shame about getting paid too much.. Seriously, if you can get the big bucks then you take it, no regrets

Yea, I think being part of a footy team and having the respect of your mates is probably more significant then working with a bunch of people you do because you have to.
Dont forget this guy is living the dream of millions of males around the world, playing what he loves and making a pretty good living out of it.

Well if Black has shame then I would hate to imagine what Tom Boyd is going through right now.

Talk about selling low...

It would sad to see him go, but if that's the way he feels.

Get the buyer to pay out his contract and sling us a third rounder.
Third rounder is worth bugger all this year. Handy player or second round minimum.

Boyd has only 10 games. probably will feel it.
My point is if Black doesn't feel embarrassed or ashamed for his pityful efforts this year, considering the amount of cash he is on, then he should be traded for any club willing to pay out his contract. He's probably on more then Goldy right now!!

Interesting situation, I never felt Black's 2014 season was as bad as people made out. 2015 a total write-off.

You would think with the success we've had with Waite and Higgins for example, that we're the perfect club for Black to shine at. FWIW I don't believe he's given his footy 100%. I hope he stays and works hard, he's got all the tools.

Lol. Love it. Particularly love that this was posted during most likely business hours. :D
