He’s a victim of our draft strategy unfortunately. If we drafted for needs and not wants he would’ve had a more fair crack at it by now. Unfortunately for him I foresee a delisting not to long after the final siren next year.

Not sure what this means. Needs, wants, preferences, aims, goals...whatever.

The lad isn't good enough.

The problem is that in some alternate universe there are a select few that actually think he could make it as an AFL midfielder.

I think we have seen enough to make a pretty informed call that as you said, he isn’t good enough.

Lazarro should have been a rookie pick, the problem is we blew a second rounder on him. Just one of many ****s ups by the previous recruiting and list management.

We are starting to see a long line of these stupid decisions.

  • Lack of drafting of talls
  • Overpaying for CCJ
  • Mahoney taken early
  • Lazarro taken early

I partly blame the club for putting that money all idiot Luff in charge of a lot of these strategic decisions, when he clearly didn’t have the experience or know how, on managing a list. Rawlings is complicit in a lot of this too.

I have no idea who was responsible for what in all of that set up. The reality is only a few people would actually know who decided or had final say on what.

Breakout game.

26 disposals at 85%, 4 tackles, 5 clearances, 9 score assists and a goal assist.

His best ever game. Full credit to him working his ass off and never dropping his head. Might struggle for a spot next year, but he has proven that he is good inside depth.

So very pleased for Charlie. I have been one of the few that was asking for a full game, in his position. This is what he can do. Well done Charlie!

He was really good today, doesn't have elite speed or disposal but he was instrumental in us moving the ball between the arcs... we have "elite" talent that just don't work hard enough to receive the football and the club should prioritise hard work over raw talent.

Great to see a young player who has worked very hard and become a consistent VFL performer get an opportunity at senior level and play so well. Laz got better as the game went on and he gathered confidence in himself. The fact that he and Phillips played so well together in the same game suggests that we should be thinking about picking them both. Our centre square performance today was much more consistent as they swapped on/off the ground.

He tested elite for agility in his draft year which is a big asset. And he has a tank.
