Autopsy 35 point loss vs. Pies

Positives:
• Invaluable experience for some of our younger players to match up on the likes of Pendles, DeGoey, Sidebottom (early on), Daicos x 2, McCreery
• Our midfield has stood up with the younger mids leading the charge
Hugh Greenwood - smart in contested situations and a bigger body around Wardlaw and Sheez
• Larkey, kept leading up at the ball and got his reward after a tough first half
• Never gave up and played with freedom in the last quarter, when in the past that would’ve blown out to 15 goals

Negatives:
• McKay, I can accept being beaten, but can’t accept poor efforts - needs a week off or in the magoos to figure out how he wants to finish his year
• At times decision making and skill errors from senior players (usual suspects)

How the hell has it taken this long for ford to get a game?
Well as others have pointed out, he’s had at times to play as a poor man’s 3rd or even 2nd KPF in the vfl; he’s been a revelation on the wing in the seniors. Stays in ahead of Taylor and Howe

Thought Zurhaar was poor today. He had 1 goal and 15 but defensive application wasn't there. Had some off moments when he should've gave it off too. Only bobbed up when the game was dead.

Him and Larkey have to be switched on from the get go. Not halfway or at 3 quarter time. It reflects poorly when we got our young guys cracking in every minute.

Very lucky he likely won't be dropped because he got up in the last. Hasn't recaptured his previous form.
I can’t agree. He plays as an undersized CHF that provides us with some structure. CZ energy was good as well. The loss of Comben really hurts us atm.

I thought we played really well today and were more than competitive for about 80% of game, it's just the little lapses in the first and third quarters and the turnovers that cost us. Clean up the disposals and decision making and we have the talent to compete against the better teams. It won't happen this season, but another season or two under the tutelage of Clarkson and Ratten and I think we will be fighting for a finals spot.

Now, despite not wanting to agree with the Nostril, I do think Hall is on the way out, can't see him playing too many more game in the AFL, especially if Goater and/or TT can work their way back into the lineup.

Bailey Scott's last two weeks have probably been the best two weeks of his career, he looks settled on the wing and is now beginning to excel.

I hope Eddie Ford can get a long run in the team, because he is a genuine talent, very clean with ball in hand and works hard without. A definite upgrade on Taylor.

Really pleased to say I was wrong about Ford needing more time in the VFL for consistency. He's brought it and the new role fits us to a tee, saves us looking for that high forward/winger and gives him a real role to grab on to.

Hard to be mad at a game like that, the problems are known ones (last touch, kicking into F50). To say something kind about the opposition they are a great outfit so we weren't embarrassed. To be even kinder, such a shame to see Sidebottom's game end as it did, he's such a great player.

Oh and yes, Will Phillips may well have arrived for keeps.

One thing that stands out like a sore thumb is the lack of mongrel in this team. We don’t have any fly the flag type players

Neither do Collingwood. Not necessary, in my view. We have plenty of brave players. Far more important - in my view.

I reckon he was a victom of being pigeonholed as a med height fwd, atm he is killing it on the wing, dare i say with scotts form atm we have a very poor mans grieg/schimma wing combo.

And for the young players out there thats a compliment.

We are building a good hard working mid field, with LDU & TT back hopefully next week.

Spicer & Laz must be dropped
Sorry for the interruption but I have never rated Spicer . Being an avid SANFL watcher I thought his South Adelaide teammate Wilkinson (state player) was a far superior player. Hope he proves me wrong

We were able to stop Collingwood's unfettered ball movement from their backline after quarter time. The score was 78-67 in the last 3 quarters against the flag favourites.

We slowed them down a fair bit- didn't allow them to play on, they had to kick over the mark much more. And we forced turn overs in the middle of the ground and scored from some, should've scored from more.

So we continued on from last week of working harder without the ball. We were killed by the opposition on the spread for 7 weeks - not so much now - pretty even in uncontested marks. Long may it continue.

However, some horrendous blunders from senior players in Howe and Ziebell. Collingwood didn't make those type of really bad errors.

Logue has been a great recruit. Mackay's one on one abilities are worrying. Ziebell is very slow.

It was a smart move, I saw the comparison with what the Saints have done with Mason Wood. So far, bang on.

Had his head up his arse today. All crash and bash but no brains.. love him for what he is though and he will bounce back.

Where do we get ourselves a McCreery type. Hard as *, fast and skillful. Pick 44 FMD.

My favourite player. Pressures like a maniac and is team first as well.
