Micky?Well it's probably time but may as well keep him in the side, just don't play him on Neitz!

Neitz is Micky's bitch. Have a look at their contests over the last 6-8 years. It's usually the mid-sized forwards like Robertson, Green and Bruce that cause our headaches, and we only have one David Teague to put on them.

Mick on Neitz.

Darky has told you why.

McCartney should have been in for Watt, coz he kept Wilson to about 1 or 2 goals last time. Anyway, Pickett will come in next week against the Dees, and so should Archer, so there's some positives. Would like Macca in too, but not sure for who.

Colbert on McDougall. Jeez we missed McCartney at CHB in the second half.

Here he is king of the baggers at it again.

Had a look at McDougall's second half possessions? 1 kick in the 3rd quarter, 2 kicks in the last. What a game. Certainly the difference between a win and a loss.

Any mention of Colbert's job on Gardiner in the 1st half?

Any mention of Colbert's two grabs running straight back with the flight of the ball?

Of course not.

Remember: never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Denis on White Line Fever last week was asked what do we need player wise to go forward for next year.
His answer straight away without pause was a fullback.
This would seem as though Watt isn't going to be the man and also doesn't sound good for McCartney.
One thing that is for sure and that is Mick is gone.
Denis also said that he likes the look of Hale but he will take some more time to develop.
Not sure what Denis has in mind for Watt. I thought he could have been tried on Wilson for a while just to see if he could match him with his leads. He could have been used as an extra man in defence. Cutting off Wilsons leads. Mick could stay around Wilson when he's in the goal square then Watt take off for the lead.
Denis had his hands full with WCs awesome midfield dominace and that is really where the game was won.

Nice to see someone other than me bagging Mick for a change.
As for Watt i have nt seen enough of him to judge him. I think ill wait until he actually gets a kick.
And also on Mick its good to see people using his age as an excuse for things he s been doing for 10 years1

Teague we have got, perhaps Blakes too, with Archer and SMotlop are also possibilities to play on them?

Sorry, sinkers, just had to put it in for Arnie, it's the same thing he was saying all game. In between cursing Weagles and bagging umpires. When he could get a word in over me of course, cursing Weagles and bagging umpires....:p :D

Nah, mate. No 'aliases' for me.

Flamin Umpires robbed us...

Bloody Wet Toast were playing too well. :(

Sorry guys, but I think Watt is hopeless.

l think we all agree that as good as Pagan was, he didnt give the kids much of a chance, on for 5mins, then off for 25mins. No one has suffered this more than Shannon Watt. He has the size, the pace and the skills to be a good players, what he lacks is confidence and belief, and the belief of those that coach him.

Laidley claims to give the kids a go and we might take a step back to take some forward, you would think he would be talking about the likes of Watt. Time for Micky to retire, and let Watt have a season at Full Back.

People have short memories, it was not that long ago when Micky started out in footy and he was one of the sloppiest players going around, used to smack players around the years and spend half the game whinging.

Eventually with game time and the confidence of his peers, Micky grew to become one of the great full backs in an era where the game was blessed with all time great full backs, Dunstall, Lockett & Abblett to name a few. Micky took on these guys and eventually brained them.

There is no reason why Watt can not do the same, he needs air time, he needs to know he wont be playing in the magoos for a couple of mistakes and he needs responsiility and support. l for one would hate to see him go, he could be a cornerstone of our future given the right envionment. If anyone watches him play in the magoos where he has this confidence and sense that he belongs, he blitzes, create that in the seniors and watch him flourish.

With the new era of kids getting more opportunity, lets not throw out a few who were not previously given it. Prefer to get rid of twits like Clayton and Bourke.

nice post and with laidley as our coach i think he should be retained, we lose from the deal if we get predergast!

i am with you on this one wrath. surely we have hardly seen watt play. he hardly gets any significant game time and when on doesn't get to settle in one position. i'm really sick of people on this board bagging him.

i guess thing to do with him now is to see if he still really wants to play. if he does then he needs game time. give him a go, if he doesn't look upto it, doesn't look like he wants to be there or another young player is playing better than him then he should be let go.

If Pagan wants to poach players, you would think he would take some of his favourites.

He can have Clayton, Cochrane and Bourke for nothing.

Watt deserves another year to prove himself, I can't believe someone (Clayton) can play 100 senior games and still be a regular in the magoos. I mean this guy is the thinking mans Troy Luff!

I agree with wrath....and I have been mentioning the same thing over and over for weeks.

He needs a fair go...just one year should do.

How is a bloke suppose to show what he is capable of when he gets 10mins against the 2nd or 3rd best forward in the oposition line up....makes no sense to me.

He played pretty well yesterday I thought- looked to have more confidence then in hte preseason, and seemed to know where to be and where to go as well.. most of the time.

Anyway- went to check his stats - and I was impressed to see he had 5 marks:D

Good on ya Watt- keep at it.
Him & Baird worked well together I think.

Go Roos
