No, but no problems with a 1 year extension, so is CCJ contracted till 2028 now ?
We had the "luxury" of seing him being underwhelming on the tiggers list previously.

Fwiw whilst iam not in the camp that reckons cooper will make it we are still a long way off having access to the required talent to improve the list to the point of displacing him presently anyhow.

What a fantastic opportunity this also presents for Barlow and the rest of our development team. I hope he makes it, for some reason he reminds me of the way Paul Hudson played.

Paul Hudson is very lucky he played when he did too.

Where's this idea that he is an arrogant person (beyond the average footballer?) come from? Is this based on people here meeting him? Leaks from the club? Have seen a few people claiming this
On a somewhat unrelated note, they turned off the water on the 2nd floor at work last week because they ‘detected a leak in the toilet’. HR have gone mad.

Let me get this right... The water in the building was turned off because of somebody taking a leak in the toilet?

What did you and the others in your workplace do? After all, there are only so many coffee mugs that you can utilise in the interim.

It was baffling at first, and it turns out that they meant there was a leak due to the new toilet fit out, not someone despoiling them.
Of course none thought to turn off the individual toilet’s water supply at the wall.
Bloody HR.
As to the coffee mug question, someone invested in about 300,000 keep cups for conferences a few years ago, so that would have been a viable alternative.

Edit: somewhat chuffed your initial take was the same as mine. No one else at work found it funny, but they are all lawyers…

I don't understand why someone would be growing vegetables in the toilet anyway.

Yep there seems to be a real blood lust to purge players. If he goes end of 2025 then so be it, but just for some context here are some of his numbers compared with Blake and RHJ.

So Cooper's kicked 33 goals, 25 behinds, had 52 tackles in 26 VFL games. Also, played 3 AFL games.
In 2024 he played 14 VFL games, kicked 12 goals, 9 behinds and had 32 tackles. Had injury issues as well.
In 2023 at VFL level he played 12 VFL games, kicked 21 goals (2 x 5 goal games) and had 20 tackles.
In 2023 at AFL level he had 3 games, 28 disposals (17 kicks, 11 handballs), 11 marks, 1 goal and 6 tackles.

For comparison, Blake Drury kicked 18 goals, 15 behinds, 46 tackles from 23 VFL games. (Cooper has 33.25 scores)
Blake had 10 AFL games (6 in 23' & 4 in 24') with 90 disposals (51 kicks, 39 handballs), 3 goals, 2 behinds, 12 tackles.
Hansen Jnr has had 20 VFL games, 22 goals, 12 behinds and 36 tackles.
Hansen Jnr has had 8 AFL games, 59 disposals (30 k, 29 h), 4 goals, 4 behinds, 8 tackles.

So just on that Cooper has kicked more goals than Blake and RHJ and had more scoring shots.
Blake and Cooper have the same number of tackles (AFL/VFL) of 58 in total. Worth another year to me.
This is spot on.

The angst on here about giving Coops another year is bordering on madness.

He had a very good 2023 and showed the capability to kick bags of goals in the VFL and also showed enough I thought in his initial AFL appearances.

His 2024 was interrupted by injury which didn't allow him to play at anywhere near his best.

Based on exposed form when he gets a run at it, I have no issue whatsoever giving him another year to prove what he can do.
