are you alright ? What are you saying?Pumping up Cumberland by fan boy supporters won't save his neck. He stunk it up all 2023. At this stage he’s just ordinary and will need to put up or he’s gone. I hope he can but seriously doubt it.

what do you bring to the team? I'm a vibrator.Reminded me of that interview with Ben Lemon
You know : Vibrant
DittoI hope Cumberland plays in the Opening Round against Gold Coast and kicks their ass just to show Hardwick who he took for granted all this time
I’m saying Cumberland is bog ordinary. Can’t you read?are you alright ? What are you saying?
you must have missed 2022 then. the kid proved he can play, and play very well. Dimma threw his toys out of the cott and CUmbo was one of them. even though we had heaps of senior players (on much bigger pay packets mind you) playing ORDINARY.I’m saying Cumberland is bog ordinary. Can’t you read?
To me that is the least of a players problem. I was like that when I first started footy after being a basketballer. The senior players just drilled me until you do it. Didn't take long. Cumberland's problem is between the ears, that stuff just gets easier the longer you play because it is every training session, every match replay, every coaching assessment.I want Cumbo to do well, hell I want all our kids to do well BUT the major concern that I have with Cumbo is that he always breaks the golden rule in team footy. You never stop while play is going on around you. When you do this, you leave your team one short in the contest and the impact of that filters down and can cost games. It's rare as hens teeth when a player does it ( not talking disputing a decision when the play has stopped) but with Cumberland, he does it often and that is a huge red flag. IMO he has all the natural talent in the world to have been a second round pick but IMO that one major flaw in his character/game is the reason he was picked where he was.
The only way I believe he will change that is if the penny drops and that's hard for kids to do.
Cumberland has to accept responsibility for his poor form. No matter what sins are being cast the coaches way in his treatment of Cumberland, Cumberland is paid to play footy.you must have missed 2022 then. the kid proved he can play, and play very well. I can read, I just couldn't understand your logic.
Let it go, DimmaI’m saying Cumberland is bog ordinary. Can’t you read?
You are very wrong, he is an emerging talent that needs development, not an established player!Cumberland has to accept responsibility for his poor form. No matter what sins are being cast the coaches way in his treatment of Cumberland, Cumberland is paid to play footy.
Bar Mansell none of those players kept Cumbo out of the side because they play completely different positionsGifted games in 2023:-
Dylan Grimes - 22
Marlion Pickett - 21
Jack Graham - 20
Rhyan Mansell - 16
Hugo Ralphsmith - 13
Noah Cumberland games in 2023 - 9.
All fringe players based on form, but only one wasnt persisted with and only one has a massive upside.
There is something wrong with this picture.
Mansell was gifted games. I like Mansell but he is not a forward bootstrap.Bar Mansell none of those players kept Cumbo out of the side because they play completely different positions
And Mansell wasn’t exactly gifted games he played his role well and did his fair share of work as the sub
I mean it’s overrated in your eyes but it obviously isn’t in the eyes of the coaches and selection committee,Mansell was gifted games. I like Mansell but he is not a forward bootstrap.
He kicked 10 gaols in 17 games. Had 5 games over 10 possessions, 6 games with 0 or 1 tackle. He is tough so occasionally did something good with that toughness, but he was gifted games due to his defensive style, which is a bit over rated. He is a run and carry player.
I agree on Cumbo mostly. He had some learning to do after being inconsistent and pretty poor. Hardwick and he were at opposite ends when it came to playing and it definitely took away he natural instincts. I have no problem with Cumberland playing VFL, same with Sonsie and Dow. The VFL is a good learning place. The VFL in the meantime was a dog's breakfast, from memory 3 byes in about 6 weeks and a few sub games and an injury means the second half of the year when Cumberland could have played week in week out he missed more games than he played it felt. Write off the year and learn, from the interview he looks in a good place.I mean it’s overrated in your eyes but it obviously isn’t in the eyes of the coaches and selection committee,
our entire forward line also struggled last year with bad supply and no real forwards being a standout at all
If Cumbo played better he would of been given more games so like others have said at the end of the day the main reason Cumbo didn’t play more was because he didn’t take his opportunities
It’s also been well documented some of his efforts of letting his man run free with him stopping or giving them far to much leeway
Cumbo has admitted himself that he didn’t play very well
He rotates through the wing a few games last year and was good, as did ClarkeI agree on Cumbo mostly. He had some learning to do after being inconsistent and pretty poor. But I still think Mansell gave very little as a forward because he is a back or a wingman. I would like to see what he can do on the wing, because he has some good attributes for that role. He can run, is a good kick, is as tough as teak and hasn't had a good crack in a while in a position he is suited to. Would say half back, but I think we have a swag of half backs.
And in the VFL they should have been throwing Cumberland through the middle on occasions, or wing, but he played pretty much the same role. Late in the VFL he got higher up the ground which was good to see. He needs to get his hands on the ball more, the VFL is where you can do that. It worked with MRJ when he went into the middle in the VFL who had a season to forget as well.He rotates through the wing a few games last year and was good, as did Clarke
Probably another reason why they got games over Cumbo
The ability to play multiple roles is essential in the modern game with limited rotations especially for guys who don’t play key positions
Agree I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes this year and I’m optimistic he will have ironed out a few of those questions about his gameAnd in the VFL they should have been throwing Cumberland through the middle on occasions, or wing, but he played pretty much the same role. Anyway, this year will be a better gauge of what sort of player Cumberland will be. Find out soon enough.
I never miss a game including 2022. How many players have we seen over years that have looked good for a few games but never really gone on to establish themselves as good quality footballers? Lots. I put Cumberland in this category. No doubt he’ll get an opportunity at some stage this year and I’ll be hoping he kills it. However, I have my doubts and based on his most recent form I think he’s a list clogger. When he gets his chance he’ll need to impact straight away. We can’t be gifting 10 games to every younger player on the list.you must have missed 2022 then. the kid proved he can play, and play very well. The difference between Cumberland and many others is that he has the ability and lots of AFL attributes, but has deficiencies in things related to team disciplines, structures etc. This was very much the mantra of Dimma towards the end of his coaching.I never miss a game including 2022.
