I reckon dimma is tossing and turning a lot having sleepless nights about the thought of cumbo kicking a bag against his mob in the opening round ….. don’t be surprised to see dimma looking a bit rusty and with bags under his eyes in the before and after match interviews

Dimma will fancy his chances of exploiting Cumberland's penchant for making one short effort to get the ball then giving up, if Cum Dog is selected that is.

Broady said today we'll be more free flowing in attack under Yze which will suit Noah. Big year for Cumbo. He's gone one way or another if he can't cement a spot this season. Should start round one zero
its clicked for him, I’m sure of it

If he can get himself up to a less selfish Bayley Fritsch level we should be very happy. I reckon that may be his ceiling but I'll take that any day.

He doesn't have Fritsch's forward craft, not many do, but he is explosive and can make things happen.

The problem with players like Cumberland is that he is a boom bust type, especially this early in his career, can be off all game then in 10 minutes have 3 goals. These sort of players cop a lot of flak but the rewards can be good if persisted with.

De Goey was one, different in some ways to Cumbo but inconsistent and played the game a lot between his ears. Charlie Cameron took 5 years to kick more than 29 goals in a season despite playing every game nearly. Chad Wingard, Daniher. Toby Greene kicked 15 goals in his 4th season from 22 games. Have to be patient with Cumberland, but he has natural aggression so that is a big plus.

Pretty much all I want to see in Opening Round is Cumberland kicking 5+ goals against Gold Coast and Dimma’s face while that’s happening.

I agree and hold solid hopes for his future in that type of forward role, but have to say, the game I saw him play live up here at the GABBA he was so far off having the tank required to properly make a defender accountable, it seemed he was more than one pre-season away from changing that to the degree required.

Could have just been an off night with a niggle or illness affecting him, difficult to gauge whether it gets that bad in other games on TV, but honestly, I was really shocked, as were all the other Tigers around us.

Was probably the #1 thing for the game people commented on.

Is that the game where he tweaked his ankle early?

How do you know he's in the B team?

Could be? :thumbsu:

If so, it wasn't obvious at the ground.

Was the one game for the year I didn't watch on TV or watch back as a replay (no thanks after seeing that hiding live!), so couldn't have picked it up from there.

Even so, you'd have to be at 'can't walk' stage for some of the efforts he put in for them to be remotely passable - and in the same minutes he wasn't at 'can't walk' stage when he was sprinting on leads.
