Great session for the Aussies but Bell is looking solid, if Prior/Swann can stick around with him we should be able to battle away to a decent total.
Prior doesn't look settled at all, looks horribly exposed when you guys aren't 5/600.

Well that was a great session. After the Haddin-Watson fiasco in the 2nd over and England crusing along to 0/70 odd, it was getting close to the "turning off, I can't watch this" stage.

Still, gotta get another wicket and clean up the tail. Mediocre tail-end batsmen like Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma have been thorns for us in recent times, still plenty of work to do.

With SuperMitch back from the dead, I'm confident.

Yeh agreed, Prior is struggling at the moment but you lot are bowling very well, swinging in and away from him, not sure what the plan is to try and catch him LBW as I think his only been out that way twice in his career and has been caught in around half of his 58 innings.

He is a worry early in his innings with the short ball as has already been seen with 2 skied hooks/pulls.

AWESOME spell from Johnson. That and his first dig with the bat is why he won international cricketer of the year in 2009. On song he as good a bowling all-rounder as you will see. He made our first innings total vaguely respectacle, and has just put us back into the series with a 45 minute spell. Brilliant.

I wouldn't mind seeing Smith given a few overs after lunch. Little to no pressure, if he lands them in the right spot he could take some wickets, if not take him off after a couple of overs.

So does this mean out of form Bowlers will now be rested instead of sent back to shield cricket like they should be?

Happy for the result but will never agree with the process that got it there. But Johnson better be careful another failure by the Australia top order in the second innings and he will be carrying the drinks at the MCG.

So far Hussey, Johnson and Haddin have returned to the form of a few summers ago whilst North has failed, wonder which way Hughes will go? Form says the way of North but you never know.

Hoping we open up with Johnson an Hilf after lunch and get a breaekthrough within the first 4 overs to put England on the ropes.
