Letā€™s announce it before we get to excited.

If itā€™s a five year deal as mentioned, what would Brown be thinking that couldnā€™t even get a 4 year deal.

Is a five year deal confirmed anywhere?

Do those of you in the know, as I definitely am not. Is Corr a good pick up or another one of those project players we seem to get.

Iā€™m not against giving him a year, I am just pointing out that my opinion is Corr is a significant upgrade.

I would be keeping EVW ahead of Durdin and Daw.

Can't comment on first para but second yes I would also.

Durdin gone for sure, Daw likely (unfortunately).....but yeah EVW never had a crack.

A year won't hurt.

I heard itā€™s 5 years on the half time break on tonightā€™s game

Jeez that is a ridiculous contract imo when we are waiting on Brown etc

He is a decent player, but 5 years? Hope thatā€™s not true

Mate , heā€™s pretty decent . Versatile player who can play on tall or small rebounds well and is a very good kick .

He is 26 and a proven AFL level defender. Definitely not a project player. If he is coming itā€™s with the expectation that he is best 22 from Day 1.

I donā€™t know about the money, but from a football perspective I see it as good business if he chooses us?

You need to add years and money to extract someone.

Maybe we said - ā€œAidan - your North contract will be skewed to performance pay on successful inside fifty spoilsā€

Aiden: ā€œ Crickey..... Thats an opportunity to be a millionaire?!ā€

Ha. You sound like me 30mins ago.

But "Deano" said we are "muppets" as don't watch other teams and devote life to AFL, as some of us have work and/or other priorities so apparently can't ask questions or discuss.

Good luck!

Taz is 31.
Daw is done (IMO)
McKay is now a lock.
Durdin is done
Walker is solid but limited

There's a spot for him for nothing but cap space and we're not then using one of our first 3 picks in the draft on a backman.

Because we need mids.

On the 5 years, Polec was signed up for 4 and may be gone this year because it's not working.

Shaw has shown the nads to not play traded recruits when they're not doing what they should. He's not the other bloke.
I get that if we are picking Corr up as a restricted Free Agent then he will not cost us at the draft. But that's not my point. I honestly believe that he will make nought all to **** all difference to our football side. What will make a difference are 2 way running mids and small pressure forwards. Maybe I've gone too hard on the idea of recruiting Corr? But that's my take. Allow time to take its course and we can throw rocks at those who were wrong down the track. That's the beauty of BigFooty. :stern look

If 5 years is the length of contract supposedly offered then IMO that is too long. It stinks of something Joyces would do. That term contract is simply too long. :stern look

Easiest way to describe him is imagine if Grimes was above average instead of elite, and then you have Corr.

As much as I love EVW, Corr's an upgrade on him. Doesn't mean Ed's papers are stamped (he still should get another one-year deal) but Corr projects as a the first choice third tall/tweener next to Tarrant and McKay.

Theyā€™ll probably be up in arms if we donā€™t land him. Donā€™t pay it any mind
He may not come, but if he does itā€™s a list improvement.

I liken him to Jacob Weitering without all the hype attached.

Good mark, reads the play well, competent one on one, decent pace and uses it well.

Heā€™s not your gorilla defender heā€™s the smart defender that reads the play well.

RE: Brown, maybe with a lot of coming and going this off season, maybe we're waiting till things settle so we can structure his contract accordingly?

I know this season has been shizen and people are pre-conditioned for disappointment, but people need to calm the farm a tad.

You could not seriously rate our defence outside of Tarrant. McKay is still developing, Walker has been solid and the rest are bog standard average and below.

Budget Grimes is a good description.
