He threw hands and it was hard enough to knock Lord's head back. The impact isn't anything to write home about but he's been caught dead to rights by putting himself in that situation. It was dumb and quite frankly he deserves the week for that reason alone.

No doubt. I was not excusing Corr. Just pointing out that each player made similar contact and that perhaps the MRO ought to have checked the video a little closer.

I thought with Logue and McKay that this would be the year for Corr as the 3rd senior back. Facts are is that he is not earning his $550K a year and has been a horrible contract for 5 years. Our backline needs a major overhaul as follows. JZ - thanks for a great career, but your done. Corr and Hall can join you in the exit lounge as discards from other clubs who have never produced consistently. McDonald would not get a game at most other clubs. I get he’s a great clubman, Captain and son of a former player etc. So not sure what to do with him. Maybe he becomes a tagger?

Yeah, despite Ziebell's start to the year, you can see him retiring/being retired. Same with Hall who hasn't shown his strengths, while displaying his weaknesses. It would seem the cliff has come for these two.

What can you do with these average players with long-term contracts? My sense is that, at best, you don't play them all at once (or both at once, after JZ goes) unless match-ups seem to suggest it.

As others have said, what about trying Dawson and Young, and even Bonar to see what's possible? In a year when the only goal is overall development, and maybe pick 2, what do we have to lose? I'd argue 'experience' in this case, isn't worth a lot.

Not sure if and when it might be worth it to pay out the contracts, or at least a year of each of them, but I'd love to see them do that, if financially possible. It means Corr leaving end of 2024, and McDonalds end of 2025. That's tolerating them on the list for another one and two years respectively, instead of two and three years. Or, if either of them are really decent players, as some suggest, then surely another club would be open to trading for them?

As yet others have said, it's the area we most need to recruit for, and until/unless we trial VFL possibilities or recruit their replacements via draft, trade or free agency, we're stuck with them.

In the meantime, this causes some of us a great deal of grief.

Corr has probably been the biggest disappointment this year for mine.

Like other posters I saw the arrival of Logue as a massive opportunity for him to revive the role he played at GWS as the tweener who could provide good leadership and decision making in the back half - it hasn't happened.

He is contracted for another two years so he will get a few more opportunities before he is done, I am rapidly losing faith though.

Unfortunately for us, the only reason his stats are better in North colours is that the ball has been planted in our Defensive 50 more or less constantly over the past three years (early GWS days no doubt similar but he was playing less then). Most members of BF would get more than 10+ touches a game playing in our back half at the moment ... his lack of intercept marking has already been highlighted but the other issue is he doesn't win contested groundball at all either ... his contested possession count overall is poor ... he averages 3.2 CPs per game over his career - and just 2.7 per game this season. Whilst not a forensic study - a quick (and random) look at some other comparable players supports his poor standard - guys like Logue, Weitering, Luke Ryan, Brennan Cox, Barass, Tom Stewart all average around 5 CPs per game ... a differential of 2-3 CPs per game may not seem a lot, but when its in your D50, that could result in saving a goal or in the modern game, initiating a scoring chain ... its disappointing and you dont want to celebrate it, but he's just not good enough for the level.
