Well as he's gettable/unwanted he must be a star of course for us.

Worked well for the Blues so far getting all the GWS duds.

"Exploring the market" has to be one of the most cringeworthy tabloid expressions of our time. Did you read that straight off Sam McClure's teleprompter? It's so ****ing plastic.

Okay mate, you believe that.

I don't think anyone is declaring him the missing piece of a premiership puzzle...

I'm sure if there was a star midfielder or small forward on the FA table we would be offering them the GDP of Saudi Arabia at the moment.

You take the FA's when you can get them.

He's played 100 games for a consistent top 4 side and is able to play on talls and smalls.

This is a good get, he's not a superstar, but a potentially top 10 player at the club. I'm all for getting that for some contractural security when we have about 50% of the salary cap free.

Thank you for talking sense

Great get, if true. We obviously need to Shaw up the backline, with Durdin & likely Maj on the way out.
I’m amazed anybody wants to come to us... must be on good terms.
Free agency a bonus, as we can front end the contract... surely we have plenty of space!
Hope he is good friends with Kelly and/or Williams 🤞

Then tell me why Ben Brown hasn’t been signed?

If he is seen as our future FF, this deal is done and was done weeks ago.

You are delusional if you don’t think Brady isn’t sitting back to see what offers are coming in.

What do you want to call it? He’s not on the table, but he’s gettable if the offer is too good to knock back.

Anyone know how much the contract for Corr is worth?

Take whatever Kane Cornes declares and cut 30% off it.

Seriously though, there's been no announcement made. If he's coming to us then I reckon nothing will be declared until after the exit meetings around Friday to Monday next week.

Easiest way to describe him is imagine if Grimes was above average instead of elite, and then you have Corr.

As much as I love EVW, Corr's an upgrade on him. Doesn't mean Ed's papers are stamped (he still should get another one-year deal) but Corr projects as a the first choice third tall/tweener next to Tarrant and McKay.
He may be an upgrade but let's not kid ourselves he's not an upgrade on EVW. It's McKay that will give way. We won't play McKay, Taz and Corr in the same for the same reason McKay pushed Walker out of the backline. None of the top 5 sides have 3 blokes 195cm or above in their back half. Some only have one.

When did Ed shut down Tom Lynch on grand final day?

Surely 5 years is a joke?

2 or 3 is more than enough for a failure so far surely?

Let's see if we land him first, hey?

He turns 27 in May 2021, so why are people running with this off handed remark about 5 years?

I now know how Kane Cornes keeps his job.

Lol!

EVW is nowhere near the level of Corr and never has been.

Have you watched Corr? He is more mobile and can play on talls and smalls.

EVW struggles to play on either. EVW is your classic tweener with no tricks or elite traits.

Great move by Brady, really happy about this. I rate Corr highly.

Despite popular belief, this addresses a big longer term need in our list. This isn’t a move to make us a contender in 2021, so get that s*** out of your head now. This boards has this perception that if we plug some holes with a couple FA’s (Corr, Saad & Williams) and add a couple draft picks and we are back, it’s just crap. How’d that work last time?

Corr will lock down a key defensive pillar for 5-7 years. It means we don’t need to draft a KPD and we can prioritise mids/goal kickers with our picks for the next couple years. A backline with Tarrant, Corr & Lmac will really help us through this rebuild, with the hope that Corr & McKay take over when Tarrant retires in the next couple years.

Absolutely no doubt that ball use is our #1, #2, #3 & #4 biggest priority, however it is not an easy fix. Higgins and Polec showed that bringing in a couple quality users does not fix the problem, just like bringing in Williams and Saad won’t fix it. We need to focus on drafting high quality users for the next 3 drafts and really build a strong highly skilled all round side. This allows us to do that.

Should we still chase Williams? Absolutely, however he and Corr aren’t going to suddenly propel us back into contention. They are good building blocks to rebuild with.

This is a very good pick up if true. Maybe our best since Higgins. I was rapped with Higgins at the time.

Hopefully we get Williams and Finlayson as well. And bring in H Shaw as our defense coach.
I’m not sold on Finlayson, I’m hoping that Comben can become that tall mobile forward. But the rest, tick, tick and tick. Heath Shaw for a year in a mentoring role is smart business if GWS turf him?
