Geelong on song and the best of the lot. The most consistent, complete and cohesive of all teams. One could argue about their level of opposition but from what we've seen far, the teams of last year at this stage anyway look like a rabble.
Excluding The Giants who have been quality with strong showings against the Pies, Roos, Eagles and Suns. And The Blues who were lucky to beat Freo which have impressed me just as much as anybody really and should have been four from four if not for a dubious, contentious decision. The Dockers look like the team from 2022 and the one which many predicted would fire in 2023 ( excluding Michael Barlow ) An uplifting surprise early on in 2024 and I hope they can keep it going. Not.
Dees and Swans look like a well oiled unit and very much a Premiership threat. Conversely The Pies and Lions who were grand finalists last year look like a Favourite on Melbourne Cup day that failed to get out of the gate. Iluvparis would be filthy with that pathetic effort from Pittman, and they're going to have to live with that. The Sleeping Lions may finally have awoken and so they should. It took them long enough.
Adelaide, North, West Coast and Hawks have all failed to register a win. The Crows were tipped to be potential top 4 finishers this season, or at least play finals but that's looking more and more off the horizon with each game played. North and West Coast have picked up from where they left off last year, or should I say, picked down. They keep sinking further and further down the depths of despair.
Melbourne vs Brisbane this Thursday Night at The G is a big game for the Lions. I predict they'll make a Bold Statement on Thursday Night at a place that has held a huge hoodoo for them for many, many years. If I'm wrong well it won't be the first time I've got a Bold Prediction wrong. And I'll be the first to admit it.
Bloody Hawks.
