I never really understood why McMahon was a fringe player under Laidley for a long time. He may have been young, but all those qualities mentioned in the article were always evident.
He was also handy in the forward line early in his career. Very good set shot.

By the way, unless you are prune to the flu, or have a compromised immune system, give the flu shot thing away.

Instead get hold of some Olive Leaf Extract and use that instead. It works to stimulate your immune system and can sometimes ward off the symptons of colds and flus and other viruses and also aids in a speedier recovery.

Not that I have any qualifications to back that but it certainly works for me and remember to always seek independent advice. :)

He's one of those players that you don't realize how important he is till he's out of the team. I was hanging out for him to come back last year

:)

And how might this fit in with the WADA/ASADA code Horace? My kid cops a 2 year ban and I'm going to come looking mate.

+2 here. No problems. I have to have it due to the "compromised immune system" thing Horace mentioned. It's a piece of piss, as they say.

Good article on Scotty and a reminder of how important he is to our backline. Those stats are pretty compelling. It's a bummer he'll be out for round one for a "brain fade", as he put it, but it's good to know he's injury and illness free and that he'll be ready to roll from round two onwards.

Didn't RoyalBlue write him off early doors?

I think he did. I can't remember if it was to Loose the forward or Loose the backman. I suspect the former. I'm pretty sure he's admitted he was wr wrr wrrrong since though.

Happy to state that I was one of the people who always believed in him to make it, even back in those days when he was just promoted off the rookie list. IIRC, that could have been together with Lower at the time. Also interesting to note, that even though he was originally from our rookie list, he was selected in the AA team in his U18 year, and it was rather unusual for an AA player to miss out on being drafted.

As I said Ohhh Errol, always get independent advice. But I'll have a chat to some bloke called "Dank" who put me on to it.

Have to agree with you on the olive leaf extract... Just a shame it tastes so bad!

Great article on a really good bloke. Always has time for my son and my family since last year when my son was diagnosed with leuakaemia. My son and I were very proud to get the number 42 on the back of my sons jumper (donated by Scott and signed by the players) at the last training session we went to. Good luck, Scott, come back in round 2 and give em hell (Just not with the fist to the face this time!!! :)) My son looks for him every time we watch a match, Scott has his own personal cheer squad in our house.

All you need is a zinc tablet daily along with some vitamin C and the flu is a thing of the past. I take large doses of Vitamin C when i start to get a sore throat and it never develops.
Added bonus is Zinc keeps your battle-pants galactica/underpants navy a boost and in tip top shape.

McMahon is a gem, may not be a superstar but he always gets the job down and is very consistent. Always need those hard workers to compliment the team

I thought the flu shot not being a "live" vaccine meant that it was impossible for it to be the cause of Gaso and others feeling so shyte. I get it every year anyhoo.

And, slightly off-topic, I am a big rap for Scotty Mac and it's great to see he's a top bloke as well as such an important member of the team :thumbsu:
