I think both will be dead come the 2028 election.
Both men physically are not in good shape. Biden for obvious reasons and Trump is bordering on obese, and probably is obese if he was weighted i public.
These pair are a perfect example as to why politicians should be made to retire at 70 years of age.
Exactly, it's a sad enditment on the US political landscape that 2 men of 80 or nearly 80 are the candidates.

People like to pick on Biden's challenges with public speaking, as though he hasn't had to overcome lifelong difficulties with stuttering, as evidence of cognitive decline.

It's the usual Trump thing; punch down, at every opportunity. It's what his supporter base loves, it makes them feel better about themselves because he's saying the things a lot of them are thinking.

Meanwhile Trump says nothing of substance, makes up s**t that doesn't even make sense; the civil war airfields, the Exxon leaving NY for Texas because of someone who wasn't even in power then. His supporters don't care what he says. His supporters don't care what he does, what crimes he commits, whether he's charged or convicted.
agreed.

stuttering, ankyloglosia etc... hardly evidence of cognitive issues.

Trump punching down with a family history of dementia though...

Sure, no doubt Trump at 77 might not be 100% sharp, but Joe is on a different level. In 4 years time he'll be a vegetable
You understand that a less senile and less stupid Trump is worse right?

Saying he will decline less than Joe is akin to making a threat.

If we are lucky, he will have forgotten his own name, and will be getting spoon fed by Ivanka.

God forbid he be able to issue an instruction or actually do anything.

I'd vote for a rock over Trump. Biden is an easy choice in comparison.

Even if Trump is ineffective himself, it's the executive orders and rollbacks that get written for him, and the lists of names he's given for judicial appointments that do the damage.

There are many talented people in the Democratic Party now who can come out and demolish Trump at the polls.
Now is the time for them.

I honestly can’t believe he is up for re-election. He honestly is struggling to remember what planet he is on.
I honestly can't believe there are people still stupid enough to be parroting this crap but there you go.

Who? Remember when people said Eric Adams could be the future of the Democrats?
I chuckle when I look up who experts consider the "young" or rising stars of the Dems, and it's usually people like Newsom or Whitmer. Yeah, because they're a breath of fresh air (sarcasm).

In the moderate lane, there's governors like Whitmer (Mich), Newsom (Cal), Polis (Col), Shapiro (Pen), Moore (Mary) etc. I think we'll hear from some of these in 2028. Beshear who has been elected governor of Kentucky twice is an interesting one, if he has any further aspirations.

I think Newsom has the demeanor and combativeness, but being California governor when there's an (often cultivated) perception of it being a failed state vs Texas, Florida, I just don't see him being that appealing in some states the Dems need.

Personally, if I were Biden, I'd switch my VP candidate for 2024 to Whitmer, or someone else. Harris is as unpopular as he is, and something needs to change, but it's also not a good look. Shapiro could help hold Pennsylvania (a must), but is also new to the job, which could annoy voters if he leaves office so soon.

On the more progressive side, there's AOC and Ro Khanna, plus newer members of the Justice Democrats (whether any have further aspirations IDK). Ruben Gallego is someone who might get more name recognition if he wins his Arizona senate race, but any further aspirations would be some way off.

You genuinely don’t think he is senile and completely out of his depth?
I think he's actually in pretty decent shape for a bloke his age which is a lot more than I could say about his opponent.

Sorry but politics aside Trump is 100x sharper than Biden. Dont let your hatred of trump blur those lines.

That’s like saying that Ralph Wiggum is 100x sharper than Milhouse Van Houten.
