Agree but they are not the same extent of a liability as each other.
It's all about equivalence with Trump, has been for his entire political career and the only way he can do that is by getting people to believe his opponents are worse that he is.

If Trump is a walking zombie then what is Biden?

Either way, no idea why 2 people in their late 70s early 80s are fighting to be president

Yes, I've stated the second part in multiple threads. But that's on the Dems/GOP. I can't believe Dems have had 4 years to determine a succession plan for the 2024 election... but here we are. GOP is hostage to a narcissistic idiot.

Once US is in the midst of the actual ECV for President, the world will be watching, with most nations/global actors invested to varying degrees. I predict an utter sh1t show at least in the US , regardless of who wins... or claims to win.

I think it’s reasonable to be appalled by Trump and recognise Biden is a liability.
They both should be considered liabilities. Both likely have age related issues with memory and concentration. Biden has a lifelong speech impediment he may find it harder to combat, though Trump has been generally incoherent, scattershot since he got into politics (presumably before, but my exposure was mostly the stage-managed Apprentice).

Trump should also have the added baggage of being anti democratic and anti free speech (given he tried to silence the voters voice, via literal acts of government).

Biden is a moderate Dem, which is pretty much centre-right in many countries and hasn't done enough to address lower/middle class America's issues. He has done some good things, sometimes at least his appointees have, is viewed by some as the most pro worker President in recent history (yeah, it's a low bar). He also has had a stubborn Manchin/Sinema combo preventing or watering down other extensive reforms he's pushed or supported, including voting rights reform that could transform elections, taxation reform, medical costs, paid leave, child tax credits etc, and he now has a Republican House whose sole aim is to sabotage and enact revenge.

Biden is not a good candidate, but there really is no comparison to Trump. It's media perception (e.g. Fox or worse), including many social media or digital content platforms that mislead the public that are the problem. Commentary that there's "open borders", that Biden has completely sat on his hands in addressing lower/middle class issues (he's not great, but has obstacles he can't bulldoze through in some areas that markedly differentiate than Trump), have no place in quality journalism or media content, but partisan hackery abounds.

I slightly digress on the age thing, but the Tory government in the UK quickly got rid of PM Thatcher when it was becoming clear she was becoming less coherent and she was 65 years old.
Perhaps that cut off point for politicians in the Western world should be around 65 years old, which at least would get rid of Trump and Biden.

Trump appears a lot older than he did in 2016, but this won’t get as much notice while Biden is as he is. And yeah, sorry, that’s not just a Trump/right wing criticism, it was a concern among Democrats in the primaries in 2020 and why the establishment only backed him when literally every other option had failed in catching on in the race to beat Bernie.

They then inexplicably seemed to put all their eggs into the Kamala basket as his successor, even though she was so bad a candidate she didn’t even make it to Iowa.

And so now they’re stuck with a guy who ran two bad presidential campaigns when he was much more with it, and only fell across the line in 2020 because Trump had overseen the deaths of 250,000 people.

They could call a party room vote and be done with it though. In the US, it's a way bigger deal to tell the incumbent president that they can't run again, and you can't feasibly stop them running in the primaries either. It would have to be a legislative act across all parties, or it'd go to court.

Now, the DNC could in effect, swing behind another candidate, but no-one prominent has put their hand up, and I think they'd be too afraid of the optics (unfortunately).

Age is an issue that is very true - what should be largely concerning is both candidates have been president with approval popularity in the high 30%.

You can yell either's accomplishments into the ether all you like, both are deeply unpopular.

How the F did the US get to this point.

I'll be honest, when I listen to them speak, Biden is clearer in the points he's trying to make and the concepts he's talking about actually tie together (assuming certain political positions). With Trump, yeah he's louder and appears more confident, but the actual content is less coherent.

Biden might be using prompts more maybe, but I'll take someone who considers what to say, than someone who says the first thing that comes into his head, even if it's an unrelated pivot.

Trump uses many words, the most words. They say very little however.

How does anyone on the Democratic side deal with a person who fabricates everything they say?
Trump lies about everything.
Ordinarily he would have been dealt with quite quickly, but for some bizarre reason the drones adopted him as their messiah, Fox backed him, and the GOP thought they could handle him but spectacularly failed. He can't be dealt with in the normal run of things. The world has to wait as the slow gears of justice grind. The biggest aberration of the norm and possible hardest to take care of is that may be able to ride those earlier factors to a position where he can dismantle the gears grinding against him. It has got to be one of the strangest situations ever in political history.

HFCS is why so many Americans are rotund :$
American Coke is made with high-fructose corn syrup and Mexican Coke is crafted with cane sugar. Cane sugar is less processed than high-fructose corn syrup, so it offers a more natural — some would say purer or more clean-tasting — version of the drink.

Not sure if this has been posted, but on the age debate - perception is everything. Trump might wear adult diapers and poo himself everyday, but everybody that votes for him thinks he is superman

I saw this ad and my first reaction was that it's over for Biden.
