This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

The Democrats aren’t seeking to overturn legitimate elections or overtly racist against migrants. On that alone, they are very different. Now, maybe working class stiffs don’t care about that because they are worried about day to day issues but we need to not act like it doesn’t matter. It really really does.

Worrying about democracy is considered something the more affluent and educated can concern themselves with, the majority of Americas don’t know or care about democracy.

They might if it’s gone, but by then you will be fighting a Orban/Putin style propaganda machine.

I think it only ends in some sort of war/revolutionary movement.

Even if democracy holds and the Dems get in it will be with a govt who has accepted all the current right wing framing, while holding up the worst impulses of the republicans until they get in again.
