Personal attacks are also to be kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder, even if it hasn't come up for a few pages and y'all should know this stuff by now:

This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Do not post conspiracy theories on this forum. We have an entire other forum for that.

Thanks all.

As always, please submit ideas for the thread title by tagging Gethelred! We're looking for something new to match the new thread!

What has he said?
He’s said he is not rolling back any vaccines - not sure how much clearer he can be.

Nobody believes this scaremongering anymore.

These are all mostly anecdotal and there is no context at all.
From afar, it appears statements have been cherry-picked and then extrapolated into making them far more controversial than what they actually are.
As an example, the link to Samoa is tenuous at best. RFK questioned the veracity of a certain vaccine, RFK visited Samoa, ergo RFK has caused Samoans not to take up vaccines. Its simplistic nonsense.

Anyway, like I said, the world is not going to end. He is not going to ban vaccines or castrate gay people. The whole premise is laughable really.

Pointing out past statements or actions that someone might now be trying to cover up, is not cherry picking.

It doesn't necessarily need the reduction in immunisation in Samoa to be linked directly to RFK Jr and his associated groups/organisations, in order to provide an argument against him having any public health office.

There was a safe, effective vaccine, which he and others misinformed people about. Low vaccination rates then resulted in excess sickness and death when an outbreak occurred.

That is not the person you want heading an agency that's supposed to provide responsible advice in the interests of public health. Unless of course you don't actually care about people, are susceptible to unfounded conspiracies, are an idiot, or a combination of these.

Gaetz, Gabbard, Kennedy, Rubio? JHC

Looks like moving back to Australia seven years ago was the right move.

If Trump appoints Ted Cruz as Ambassador to Australia, I'm moving to New Zealand.

Cruz will be Ambassador to Mexico, based out of Cancún I'd suspect.

Nothing pleases me more than continually being on the opposite side of whatever Bec Judd thinks.

She's very much a barometer, a validation for one being on the right side of history.

A Tad confused as in,
All Trumps appointments from sitting Senators to Governors now vacate that position,
So there will be new elections to replace them I assume will be the case.
Not all. I believe there has to be a special election to replace a congressman. But if a senator steps down before his term is up, the governor of the state gets to nominate a replacement. I think they're obliged to nominate someone with a similar political outlook as the person they're replacing. I also think (though am happy to be corrected) that the replacement only sits until the next election. They don't take over the entire term of the elected senator they're replacing. So an election would be held in 2026 to confirm or replace the appointment.

Governors I am not sure. May depend on state law.
