These appointments are absolutely laughable. US citizens will be shocked at how much damage they can do in a short period of time.

At least with Trump's last term, he was surrounded by competent advisors and people who actually knew what they were doing. This is an entirely different ball game now.

Trump is appointing loyalists because he's a selfish prick and they'll tick off stuff like overturning his convictions and funnelling some more cash his ways.

The loyalists however, are often ideologically motivated, and will attempt to re-shape American government for their benefit.
 
We know government departments are anything but efficient but Musk, a ****ing billionaire, frothing over gutting joints and people losing jobs is tragic

Thankfully our politics are boring by comparison but the Aus election threads do good numbers usually.

But then again in Australia we don't elect rapist racists to top job and then watch as they appoint pedos, narcissists, scumbags, grifters and cookers to their team, so there also maybe more to it.

“We must take care of our brave men and women in uniform, and Doug will be a great advocate for our Active Duty Servicemembers, Veterans, and Military Families to ensure they have the support they need,” Mr. Trump wrote in a statement.

Mr. Collins, 58, who serves in the Air Force Reserve as a chaplain, became the face of Mr. Trump’s first impeachment defense in the House in 2019. Then the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, Mr. Collins became a fixture on Fox News and led House Republicans’ efforts to undercut the impeachment hearings held by Democrats.

lol so they will decimate their military by removing women and gays, while replacing competent experienced generals with Trump loyalists and, at the same time , giving Putin andvany other US enemies access to US classified info. Not sure the US military is going to feel particularly safe on tours of duty.
