God youre thick...
Classy with the name calling.

I don't care if Ben Brown is playing as a defensive forward, a wingman, a ruck, a tagger, a key back. 2 possessions is a bloody disgrace. I could jump on the ground and get 8 with no training. having 2, REGARDLESS of role is unacceptable.

Has he been in this role all season or just the last 4 weeks? Also what role is it? He's a key forward, what do you think is so different about this so-called new role?

Brown plays his best football when hes got space to lead into, much like Fritsch, there is no need to go smaller, just move the ball faster and give him a chance to utilise what hes best at.
That's not role. That's system! 2 completely different things. like what on earth are you talking about? Yes, I agree with you regarding ball movement but ball movement IS NOT 'role'.

His role is pretty much a shit kickers like Chris Dawes was to strictly contest down the line and deep due to slow ball movement. Which isn't his thing.

so you're suggesting that we've changed our game plan from last season? I do think that we don't lower our eyes enough. But we don't provide forward pressure like we used to. And our zone is non existent after a behind.

Absolutely we've changed the game plan from what we were doing in finals when we were kicking scores and Brown looked half decent.

but what about in the home and away from last season?

This type of offense reminds me of 2019-2020 Dees, we played this type of style during games last year but it was never this slow and predictable. Makes it very easy for teams to defend.

I do agree. I'm not too surprised that supporters aren't going. We play slow boring football, we don't kick goals, we've been underwhelming most of the season and then you factor in the time slots, the weather etc. The best thing about the loss to Collingwood will be seeing Daniel Turner's debut.

Now I've seen it all. I genuinely hope this is some sort of overly-invested satire.

Our last couple of weeks haven't been sparkling, sure, but may I remind you that the Dees are reigning premiers, currently top of the ladder, and barring a Pies flogging will remain there.

We also won 2.5 games out of 6 around the same period last year, and we thought our season was done. The AA full-back will be back next round, the players will have the bye to freshen up, and we'll get on with things. Cheer up.

We disagree and that's ok. You say the last couple of weeks. We've been poor for most of the season. Being pushed by north Melbourne for 3/4's and WCE matching us for a half were also horrific performances and some supporters chose to bury their head in the sand and look at the margin. The following 2 weeks confirmed what many supporters had already seen.

But yes, we'll be 10-3 heading into the bye with the hardest fixture run coming home in the afl. most likely miss out on top 4 unless we have a complete turn around in form. Geelong (gmhba), Carlton, Freo (in WA), Brisbane (twice). There's an extra 5 guaranteed losses. 5+3 = 8 remaining losses for the year. 15 wins, 8 losses =touch and go for 4th or 5th.

I haven't seen any form all year which suggests we will beat any of these teams. Yes, you can look at last year, but we haven't shown any 2021 form this year, except for 1 half against stkilda.

Hate to jump on your optimism but 8 losses means only 14 wins for the season.

I’m really looking forward to this game, especially the sledging from Pies fans, now that a former captain has decided to join the pile on. Let’s come out fast and keep the foot down for 4 quarters please.

I was correct yet again. And now wait for people to start talking about our fixture on the run home etc. I'm about 6 weeks ahead of the sports media and about 1-4 weeks ahead of your average supporter on Bigfooty.

Where are all the 'we play in 2nd gear' fans now? Anyone who subscribed to that theory needs a good hard look at themselves.

Well after the WCE and North wins I had the very unpopular opinion that we played like trash and I was met with a barrage of supporters saying that 'we just play in 2nd gear'. That was a load of nonsense then and is a load of nonsense now. Hopefully this is yet another lesson for supporters to look at how we play in wins and not just get sucked in by the final margin.

In terms of solutions, I'd drop Ben Brown. He can't mark anything and doesn't apply defensive pressure. And I'm bringing in Bedford. It will force the mids to lower their eyes when going inside 50m. But this is system based. Goodwin's a lot to blame here. The ball movement is slow and boring. Which invites pressure when we turn it over. The forwards are getting sucked so high that we often have no-one inside 50m. Our defensive zone is non-existent after we kick a behind. Fix that. Lowering our eyes inside 50m is also a must. Change the centre square set up. With Gawn, Trac, Viney and Oliver and still lose clearance weekly is a disgrace. Change it up to at least see what happens. And I hate to say it but Petty may need to be trialled forward. Brown isn't the answer, and Fritsch is spending a hour or so without touching the ball. We either bring in JVR to at least give the fans something to be excited about or we move Petty fwd. It's not ideal but seeing Ben Brown spud it up for 2 hours is far less ideal.

Petracca has taken twice as many kicks inside 50 as Charlie Spargo and has found LESS targets.

Tracs taken double the kicks inside 50 of everyone in our team except Oliver and both of them are going at below the league average.

Thats problem A B and C in our game right there. Our highest paid players literally kick shitter inside 50 than Jack Viney
