I don’t usually quote myself but I saw the signs after few rounds.

It’s just a massive relief to me.
In reality I think most saw what you saw but many made excuses or somehow convinced themselves that they were seeing things that didn't actually happen.

He could have been a well respected player if he'd brought his best attitude and matched it with his best football. Most of the football supporting world will see him as a pretty weak and unprofessional individual now. Another FigJam who is actually yet to play a genuinely decent 4 Quarter game at AFL level.

Audacity of the bloke nominating a club.
More like stupidity. It gives us leverage. Basically, we should be telling him "Jase, if you want to get to Poort, they're either paying massive overs or you're spending next year getting your arse kicked by Clarko while death riding Poort for the spoon as the 2023 PSD's your only option".

This.

You better be willing to pay, because I can’t wait to see this soft **** playing 2s and getting picked up by whoever has PSD 1 next year

This kids weak as piss, should have at least pissed off earlier and done the right thing by you’re club forcing the AFL’s hand into giving you pick 2 as a PP
There’s no way this move has just happened over night, Port haven’t just worked out they have 800k in cap space to pay this tool, at the least they should have done the right thing and let you guys know this was happening, so you could plan accordingly.
If I was you guys I would make them pay through the nose for this and I’m not just talking about trade currency
With the cap space you guys have when their Victorian players come out of contract or any of their better players for that matter, offer them big bucks, force them to over pay and stuff their list management, see how they like being shafted.

What's your point here mate. North Melbourne is a drunken chef and because JHF is young he should be given a pass? Not in a national comp, not a year after getting drafted, not when he is nominating a club, not when he's had "secret meetings" with Port while still a contracted North player. Doesn't pass the pub test

The point I'm trying to make is, at the end of the day it's a job, and if he's unhappy in his job, why should he have to stay? Would you stay in a job you don't like longer than you had to if you had what you considered to be a better offer somewhere else?

Could of just done a bailey smith or perkins and saved the roos the bs.

I said it at the time, the fact that he didn't go to Bali with basically every other 1-4th year player and was back in SA was a worry.

That’s might be true but to drop this shit on the night before trades start getting worked on stinks from both Him and his manager.

Other players come out and give a heads up well in advance.

We could have asked for more compensation in assistance knowing this was in the wind.

It was simply done to shaft both us and Radelaide so they were invested in Rankine and couldn’t compete.!!!

Low life scum!!

I think JHF is the Chef who constantly dished up sour grapes.

Your kidding yourself if you think AFL is just like any job 😂😂

Nah this doesn't wash. This has come up before. The kid is a footballer, dyed in the wool, not an accountant for PWC or anything like that. He's paid to play footy, you can do that anywhere wearing any colours, and when you are as good as he is, you're understanding that you'll probably have to do it outside your home state from a young age.

He's also being paid 6 figures at 18yo to do something he loves. At 19yo he'll be getting more than I'll ever make to do the same thing, wearing slightly different colours. "unhappy" in your job is bullshit when you're moving somewhere else to do the same job. His job is to play footy.

He's cracked it because moving to North isn't what he thought it would be, because we have instability in the club, because our new coach might not be our new coach, and because he's further away from home and his mates. Now he's dudding a club who put huge resources and time and faith in him to be a leader in the resurgence of the club, and he's putting us further back in the pack to further his own interests, something we were led to believe was against his character and personal values

We have to be absolute campaigners here, it's the only way to negotiate from this position, Rawlings/Viney have to go full Dodoro and just let this drag until the last few hours of the last day.

The starting point absolutely has to be 2022 R1, 2023 R1 and Sinn/Bergman.

They have to pay a premium for white anting a no.1 draft pick in their first season.

Kindly tell them to "make them available" if the response to any of their young kids are "they are contracted"

There will be a lot of jostling posturing by Port, but we just absolutely have to stand our ground.

Unfortunately this potentially muddies the other deals like Logue, unless it's done early.

It's a lot easier to just deal on a future 2nd rounder when you only have Pick 1 and Pick 50ish this year.

Freo will be smelling blood themselves imo.

The fact he's contracted means he has to stay unless we decide otherwise. We're clearly willing to negotiate in order to have him leave though and it's more the shitty attitude he's brought all year combined with the fact this has been dropped hours before the beginning of the trade window.

Carried himself like a w***er all year and then the way this has unfolded, he hasn't exactly covered himself in glory.

There have been numerous first year players who have been home-sick and end up returning home, but this is almost always after their initial contract runs out and they've carried themselves with integrity. This is not the case here.
