You are offering a number 1 pick 19 year old 800k a season. You will need to be putting a good player in the mix. A couple of mid 1st round picks won't suffice.
What many here don’t understand is that I agree. We got to pay up. Bergman is a gun, I’d rather see him stay in port colours to be honest and think he is criminally underrated.

Unfortunately for you guys, convincing a player to agree to a trade to your club is a massive challenge.

There is no real incentive to play at North and there is so much uncertainty.

None of the players mentioned here are coming in this trade, so don't expect it.

It will be draft picks only, this years 1st and next year's 1st, then maybe some sort of sweetener 3rd or pick upgrade etc.

Sometimes you just gotta accept what you are at the particular time and work on getting better from there.

And hating on players who don't show blind loyalty doesn't do anything productive.

There's a reason JHF wants out, best to focus all energy on finding and fixing that problem.

No, that’s not how it works. You’ll pay up or he can rot in the reserves.

It’s indicative of the generation, No guts, no resilience, No loyalty, no steadfastness to build something. Always after the quick fix and easy way out.
It's weak to me.
Take the best trade we can get and throw the petulant turd out the door.
Clearly never had and would never have what it takes to be a Shinboner.
It's not. It's indicative of the individual only. There are other kids in the same position - some that have been training next to him that display the exact opposite traits.

Whose to say this actually has been going on behind closed doors for a couple of weeks now?..

Maybe Clarko met with him after the announcement and told him the rules going forward - are you in or are you out and he said I want to go home to mummy.

JHF’s ‘secret meeting’ with Poort was actually ok’d by the club and Viney has been working the phones on the best outcome for us.

Dunno, I could be miles off and don’t really care TBH..

Id be happy to keep JHF and get him a year under Clarko, his attitude and wants may well change. Wouldnt be the first time a player changed their minds.
I’d be happy for you to do that, and for us to keep our first rounders and the butters that won’t be getting traded (Bergman more realistically)

We have to be absolute campaigners at the trade table with this. Make our demands and do not fold.

If Brady ****s this one up, he can walk out the door.

Another trade bungle from this bloke and he has single handedly set us back 5 years.

So far he hasn’t registered one tick at the negotiation table.

What a time to be a North supporter, 2 wins, one of the worst coaches in the AFL era, the replacement coach is under a question mark and now the talent you invest in at Pick 1, turns out to be a spineless little bitch.

I would be sticking clear of guys managed by this Williams ****er too. He’s shown what a grubby campaigner he can be.

At least be realistic. Next you will say Rozee, Butters, Dursma and two first rounders for a 19y/o.

Your hurting I get it. he’s a 19 year old kid with homesickness. But jeez, worse than eagle supporters.

You’ll get two first rounders and Bergman, is honestly what I see happening. But JHF ain’t going to get you someone like Butters or Rozee and two first rounders.
Being honest I'd be mortified if anyone is really hurting over this. What I will accept is we're hurting badly over our current coaching mess.
A horrid time to have a coach in limbo.
I would take that offer ^^everyday of the week. Not many trades that involved three for one work in the favour of the buyer, history shows that.

I'm no draft watcher but reckon having two first this yr and two next yr, two of those from JHF is a wonderful outcome.

It though for the AFL isn't a great look having pick1 leave the bottom side in 12 months, not that the AFL cares for bad looks it would seem.

As Ms Sharon says,

Oh well.

This campaigner. Good luck campaigner, now **** off

Okay, and I think that the club will ask for Butters, and probably rightfully so. You don't think you can pull off one of the all time great recruiting coups without coughing up top line talent. Clubs made it pretty clear all this year we would be looking to bring in established footballers. You want JHF, it's going to cost you one and Bergman hasn't moved the needle quite yet. Sure looks a player, but your club wants quality, there'd need to be established quality coming back. Butters isn't an unreasonable or unrealistic request

they possibly will but this bloke wont be maturing any time soon,
Yes he will, he already showed more than most as a first year player. There is no questioning he'll be a superstar and we need gun players badly - not a list of good/ ok players.

Corn just compared JHF to Gavan Wanganeen. Corn says Port will turn him around. Delusional.
Wanganeen won a Brownlow at the age of 20 and was an All-Australian the year before he left for Port. Not sure how they turned him around but sure.

Excellent!

I hope Corn has him a Waganeen/Jarman hybrid by the end of the day because that will be worth 5 x first rounders..

Overall In my experience working with Alot of his generation they are weak as piss.
Zero work ethic and all want the world on a platter and don’t want to work for it .
Agree To disagree on this
.

This is the thing Port fans aren't getting. You can't do what they've done then get stingy at the trade table.
Ding ding ding! Absolutely spot on. There is no trying to 'win' the trade here from ports perspective, it's a matter of how bad do you want Jason, and how willing are you to hedge your bets we won't deal with the Crows next year

He’s a cult classic and there would be a mutiny if butters left, especially if it was not him that suggested he wanted to go to Victoria. Hinkley wants to keep his job remember. Dursma, drew, heck even wines is more likely to happen than butters is. I’d say butters and Rozee are the two impossibilities in our colours right now.

Guess time will tell.
