There was a clear moment in the third quarter when GC went to another gear, and we didn't or couldn't go with them.
Yep. We squandered some very easy opportunities before then as well to give us breathing room - as well as a few to keep us in touch (Cam had a couple of opportunities, Comben as well but these might have been a bit earlier).

Absolutely blows my mind seeing people write Scott off. It's bonkers.

Very few are writing him off. Competition is coming though, we've been desperate for a player with his skillset - that might not always be the case.

The way we were cutting through them with ease in the first quarter I was thinking we would eventually put it on the scoreboard and win easily by 5-6 goals. Then we completely gave up.

I've watched the replay of the weekends game.
It has become apparent to me that this guy's improvement is off the charts since Noble's exit. How can a coach's approach stifle a players development to such extent? I'm amazed.
Strange take, I really feel his move to the backline earlier in the year under Noble was a big step forward in building his confidence.

On possessions alone he is averaging more than 20 under Adams. That wasn't the case before-hand. I'd argue he is now playing in a more difficult position than earlier in the season and he isn't getting the some of the cheap kicks he picked up in our backline.

Not saying he was better under Noble but his time in the backline earlier in the year wasn't a bad thing for his development.

He made big strides forward under Noble as well playing in defence, he's one of the very few who showed some decent level of development under Noble.

Gonna be sad to see him go.
Hopefully now that Clarko has arrived Bailey might be able to see how much stability will be within the club for at least the next 5 years and stay on for a few more years..however if he wishes to move on then so be it..no more pampering to players. If he's heart isn't in it (playing for the jumper)then its no point keeping him..

Depends on who's given him an offer.
Could easily be a Jordan Clark type situation.
Actually wouldn't be surprised if Geelong were in the mix for his services.

Well this is random and would suck. Hopefully Clarko can get on the phone and get him to sign up for 1 year and if it’s not better, then can go.

Were there some posts between this one and the one above it that I missed? A whole change of direction has come over the thread at this point.
