People who are saying that Bailey is "just" a role player are missing the point. We've just hired a coach who's big on playing to a system. In order for the system to be successful, we'll need players who can execute the coach's instructions i.e. role players.

It'd be disappointing lose Bailey. He's probably not going to be a superstar but he'll be a more than handy piece of the puzzle. Not unlike his old man.

I only just looked into what he’s studying. According to SEN it’s engineering and architecture at UniMel! How one balances that with a professional AFL career, I have no idea at all. Even if you were doing the minimum amount of units, there wouldn’t be enough hours in the day.

Clubs are too quick to pump out long term deals for players just string together a few good games in one year.

Clarkson's comments on Goldy suggest he was high on the list of keepers; with Clarkson appointed, I'm assuming that with CZ and Bailey (and Curtis Taylor too presumably), it's a question of money, not appeal elsewhere
