I think he stays. His old man will be in his ear about getting an opportunity to be coached by the best.

However, does anyone ever see him in social posts with any of the other lads? Who is he close with?

I know hes legitimately the smartest player in the AFL in terms of IQ, but just curious as to who he is tight with.
None really
seems to be a bit of a recluse for a young player

Surely Bailey's been invited around to Clarko's hobby farm by now for some one on one convincing?

Just found a regular place in the side, Played some good footy and wants out ?
Cant be true surely.

He needs to take a 2 year extension and back himself to get a better contract later.

Clubs are too quick to pump out long term deals for players just string together a few good games in one year.

Would he even get more than 2 years anywhere else? As much as he’s been OK for us this year, he’s doing it in a bottom placed team. I would have thought he/his manager doesn’t come from strong bargaining position.

It only a rumour that he wants out anyway. At this stage he has a new coach and maybe his best option is staying.

Ralphie keeps on changing the copy on this story. Now reckons Geelong are basically in the boxseat.

Young Roo set to follow Dad’s footsteps

Geelong is poised to pinch Bailey Scott from North Melbourne in an early blow for new coach Alastair Clarkson.

The Cats have been in dialogue with Scott’s management for some time and may have already convinced the 22-year-old dasher to change clubs before Clarkson was appointed.

Scott had the option of joining the Roos and Geelong as a father-son selection in 2018, because his dad, Robert, played more than 100 games for both clubs – but he was also eligible as an Academy pick for Gold Coast.

It’s understood North Melbourne has offered him a multi-year contract to stay.

Scott averaged a career-most 18 disposals in 21 senior appearances in a new defensive role this season but can also slot in on a wing or across half-forward.

He bought a home in Altona, which is only a 50-minute drive to Geelong.

Industry sources believe Scott would be worth a pick in the second or third round, but the latter would be a disappointing result for the Kangaroos after developing him for four years.

The Cats are also linked with contracted Giants midfielder Jacob Hopper and Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy, so they could be major players in the trade period.

Wouldn’t a 50 min drive to Geelong effectively be closer to melb

Don’t get the hate to be honest sure he’s not an a grade but he comfortably outperformed most this year

Watch him turn back to his first year highs as he joins a team that plays him in the correct position and doesnt dick him around.

How can Geelong afford all this? Cotton on clothing will be near going broke

Cunners lives in Altona so not sure why Bailey buying a house there would suggest a Geelong move. **** driving nearly an hour there and then back every day anyway.
